I don't see anything fuzzy at all. It's a symbol. That's it. A symbol of a failed idea at the hands of murderers. I blame Stalin and his henchmen, not the symbol. I've always been like that though and I guess I'm in the minority...

I can understand not liking it personally. Like I said, whatever baggage you bring to it is your problem. But to demand that he change it is what I don't understand. What happened to the idea of "Don't like it, turn the channel"? That concept is gone in the USA. A small and vocal minority can change everything for the masses. That is what I don't like about this country now. It didn't use to be that way...

Socialism has been tried many times, here in the colonial days of this country, and has failed miserably each time. The founders were well aware of these experiments and steered away from them.
It's a pleasure to debate. And, I always say, it's a freedom cherished. You aren't likely to change my mind, or me to change yours. Liberalism is the idealism of youth. I was once that way. But have not lost my compassion.
Success in this capitalist society has allowed me to help people more, in a direct way, than handing my money over to someone who would just use it to advance their own power.

I never implied that you said anything about him changing it. But I also fail to see how this is a "liberal" issue like you keep bringing up. It's not that. But it seems that in this post and in others you have posted in, you bring it back to that. We get it, you're a conservative. Great. But every arguement doesn't always come down to conservative vs. liberal. Unless that's the only way you look at the world...

Oh, yes..South Carolina:
No retail hard liqour sales between 7PM and 9AM
No retail achohol sales on Sunday
Hard stuff is sold by state regulated "ABC" stores. The stores have large red dots displayed, for those who are not literate.
At least there is no "last call" law, bars can stay open 24 hrs, if they wish.
Oh, and liquor used to be served in those airline sized mini-bottles by law until last year, in the bars.

Cyg, many places here at the beach still serve the small bottles. I never quite understood the logic behind that but I guess maybe i'm not supposed to. I don't drink, but my wife (being the rebelious yankee that she is) allways asks why they are so behind in the times?

Any alcohol can be bought between the hours of 6am and 2am. Convience stores only carry beer and the like. Hard stuff can be bought at the grocery store. Bars close at 2am. Same rules on Sunday...

Edit: Places that really kill me are the places that don't allow beer sales in stores close to the interstate. Gotta discourage drunk driving and all. I think Missouri is like that...
