If the wife and I were going to have a son Jackson was in the front running as at least one of his names(1st or middle). Her grand father was named Jackson so for us it would have been a family thing.

When the kid is born, look for a trem arm. Otherwise, if it's a fixed bridge that will cause you nothing but grief for 18 years.:ROTF: :ROTF: :ROTF: That was pretty good.

My wife actually likes the name Jackson.
Not for the guitar brand, but in general.
You can always call the kid Jack. I dig the name myself.

Jackson has been used in the Southern United States for ages. Usually was a rich, classy southern boy. So it is definitely an acceptable first or second name for a boy. Now if you have a girl and give her the first name Jackson that might raise questions. But she could always go by Jackie or something.

Do the "Family" name thing like me and my wife did.:ROTF: We got a book of names. We decided on Keith Garrett Rogers. There is no "Keith" in my family. The only "Garrett" is a cousin that didn't even cross our minds. "Rogers" is for real. Or,you could do what my hippie sister did 27 years ago. Her last name is "Rogers". The dad's. "Longo". So she did the natural thing, she used to think eating red clay was hip, and named her out of wedlock daughter, "Holly Clovis".

if you want to go for it, Jackson isn't a bad first name. I like unique and not so common names.

but - what if Fender sells Jackson to Hondo and they start making plywood pieces of crap?
