Nope. Jack is not a proper name, it's just a familiarisation of John.

Yes, I'm a pedantic old twat.
So I woke up,rolled over and who was lying next to me? Only Bonnie Langford!

    I nearly broke her back

There ya go, "Charvel Avenger Hasegawa".

I managed to sneak "Katalina" past the wife for our daughter's name... she never made the connection with my old-Pontiac addiction. I wasn't brave enough to go for "2+2" as the middle name. She immediately shot down "Judge" for a boy's name & my last name starts with 'H' so I couldn't make the intials G.T.O.

I did see a car show video where the guy had a 'Cuda and introduced his son, "Hemi". LMAO

Go nuetral....you never know what your child will like when they grow up.
My two sons and I share many interests, but they could care less about guitars.

Just call him "JR". It's a compliment here to be known by initials.

If you call him "Jacks", he'll get laughed at on this side of the pond. It's an impolite/slang term for the rest-room. E.g. as one might overhear in a public house: (phonetically) "I off to the jacks. Me bladder is bleedin' burstin'. Get us a pint while I'm gone, will yis?".
