That's pretty fucked up. If this happened over a year ago, why is it just being made public now?!?

It's true. The names and address of the woman that did it is on the net if you look. The bitch had the nerve to tell the parents to "Give it a rest". She's lucky the father hasn't bashed her skull in. I can't imagine another adult doin this to a child, especially one that they knew and were aware she had low self esteem issues. It's just vile.

that's where I live... The author writes for the local paper. I don't know if we still have the paper though, but I'm pretty sure it's real

I heard this story on NYC news radio station 1010WINS on the way home from work today. Probably on the true side.

There really was no crime committed - that's why I called it bizarre because I can't think of any legislation that would have stopped this without destroying the 1st Amendment.

Wow...Go figure...Somebody making up a name on the internet and pretending to be somebody they are not....Anybody remember LinaV???

I know this is different as it was done with malicious intent but it's the internet. A new tool of torture.

True, there really was no crime committed. There were a couple teens around here back in 1994... they were so distraught over Kurt Cobain killing himself, they figured they had nothing left to live for and killed themselves as well. It's not like their parents could sue anybody for some "crime".

There are a lot of "crimes" on the books that are are loosely-enough defined for this to fit under. But it would be very hard - maybe impossible - to prove beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law that it caused her to commit suicide. That's why it is going un-prosecuted. It obviously contributed. But it would be hard to prove "cause".

Nonetheless, I'm very distrubed by the fact that the local police & prosecutors don't even seem to be doing the diligence of investigating the incident at all. It seems like they pretty much dismissed the whole thing from day one. ...There's something very fishy there.

IMHO, those other parents are no better than your random scumbag pedophiles. The only difference is they f**ked with her head, instead of her body. IMHO, there are few - if any - things in life that are more repulsive than adults abusing children. Whatever form that abuse may take.

                            RIP to that poor girl.

sadly, there is truth to the story. a couple weeks ago the mother was on the local radio here and gave the story. what was interesting is when she told the story, she seemed to focus on what a protective mother is was. maybe it was her way of dealing with it. what the story doesn't say is the issues her daughter had prior to her death. the mother claimed the girl was picked on at school, so she had her enrolled into a private school. this was with the thought that the kids had to wear the same clothes, so it would take care of peer pressure of clothing and she would fit in better? ok.

the girl was a manic depressent, which in the story it touched on she was on meds. with the story her mom gave on what a great mom she is, it was like she did everything she could for the girl, but almost at a fault. way too protective, to where the kid could not be a kid. ever seen the movie Carrie?

it is one thing for a girl to have her heart broken, but to hang herself in the same afternoon that this fake boy typed stuff about her? you can't tell me that thoughts of killing herself just popped in her head and how to do it? the girl had issues, and i would not be shocked if it wasn't home enviroment related.

either way, it is a sad story, and for adults to be the tipping point for this girl is criminal.

That is the sick part, that the adults pushed her over the edge. You can understand (not excuse) children being mean to one another, but adults, especially those with children of their own, should be naturally protective of kids. In this case, the parents of her ex-friend cared only for their child, and decided to have 'some fun' at the expense of someone else's child. What a poor example they were to their kid.

If anything, I would say that what those people did was abuse their own child. They were showing their child how to be hateful and destroy someone else 'just for the fun of it'. Split that family up to save the kid from the assholes who call themselves her parents. Let them get a taste of what it is like to have your family ripped apart.

How so-called adults could ever do something as sick as this is beyond me. I am all for free speech, but this goes too far IMO. True, the young lady had problems, but that does not excuse their actions. What would have happened if this kid had decided to pack some guns to school to 'equalize' things before committing suicide?

Would their actions be excused then?
