Do you want to stay with a van? If not I love my Focus ZX3 and apparently so do people who ride with me, as my dad and two of my friends have gotten ZX3s too. One of those friends is about 6'2", 200+ pounds, so size isn't an issue.

Try checking junk yards for used trannys and find a tech that will install it for ya. No sense in buying a new one. What about have the existing tranny rebuilt. I doubt its the actaul gears in the tranny that are bad. Its usually a seal or a valve that goes out.

These trannies are notorious for breaking. Mine lasted me 4 years and cost $1,500. It's been a great workhorse. A trans job is like $2,600.
