  • Do Deer Whistles actually work?

Do those deer whistles that you stick on the bumper of you car actually help keep deer away when you are driving? I've had alot of close calls lately and was just wondering if those things actually work or not.
Don't forget the corn. It's nutritious, delicious, and ribbed for her pleasure.

I was thinkin about trying one cause I hit a deer last week. I'm really surprised it's taken this long for me to hit one out here where I live.

Fucking hell, what did it do to your car, it'd be like hitting a pony wouldn't it? Or was it one of those little Chinese deer?

Actually they work great. Work for making the people that sell them a lot of money that is...

I mount an M-60 on the hood and shoot them while driving.J/K
The deer alerts are a big waste of money IMO.I see a lot of deer while working at night you just have to be ready and keep your eyes tuned to the shoulder of the road for movement.
I hit two coyotes last week, they were at the wrong place at the wrong time.
I saw an elk last Thursday night and man I hope I don't hit one of those!!!

It was a good size deer but I was able to jam on my brakes and slow sown significantly before hitting it. It was able to run away even though I hit it pretty hard and knocked it down. But NO damage to the car. Hope it's alright?

I drive down a lot of dark country roads that frequently have deer on them , use your bright headlights, keep a sharp look out for em, generally they are grazin on the grass beside the road, you see a deer, slow the fuck down, like 10 mph, cuz where theres one theres more than likely a couple more. if you are driving the same roads you should know the places where deer are and drive cautiously, or just get a big ass truck and paste the fuggin buggers,,,

One thing I do know about deer is that they are really prone to stress, and often get up after being hit and run away seemingly unhurt, only to croak a few hours later due to the hormone/chemical release, not the actual crash injury.

All of the deer around here get huge from snacking in the corn fields. The last one I hit (about a year ago) ran right into the side of my car as I was going down the road. I had just purchased one of the deer whistles about a week before that accident.

I saw a dead deer on the highway going to work the other day and wondered the same thing. The one I saw was mangled pretty good, so you know the car probably got smashed aswell.
