if i go in early august is it going to be amazingly hot. im not used to a lot of heat (it rains a lot in the uk).

secondly where do i want to stay when i do go?

haha its not that bad in the uk dude., we get pretty hot weather too in england...new york is just as north as we are, and probably just as wet.

It may not be that hot. You may see some high 90 degree days but you'll enjoy it I'm sure. Just bring a nice baseball hat or get yourself a NY Mets hat to keep the sun off of you. You may want to arm yourself with a bit of sun screen. Are you going to Manhattan or Long Island ??

Depends on where you're going. I always find that Manhattan tends to be stifling on a summer day with all of the heat radiating off of the buildings.

Where do you want to stay? If you're looking to stay in the city, there's every option in the world available. Keep south of 100th street.
