  • '69 Firebird that stays hidden

As in Pontiac. I need to figure this out. 7 days ago my step-son up the street bought an extremely fine yellow Firebird. I mean near stock. I just happened to get to see it because it was in the driveway last Tues. Then it went into their garage. T-day, he had all the family over to his house for dinner. Because I saw the car, I talked to him about it before the rest came over. He did not mention the car to his natural father or anyone else. Me, knowing him, kept my mouth shut. Here is what I don't get. If I had bought that car, the first thing I would have done is show it off. Particularly to close family. What's the point of having a brand new fantastic snag and not sharing it? There is no fett blood in his veins.:ROTF:

My guess? He owes his old man some $$$, but couldn't pass up the car.

Not at all. He is just weird like that. We could have had something to talk about at the get together. This car is just tits. He has me stumpted. I'll be surprized if he gives me a ride in it. He got a great deal. Divorce kinda thing.

That is odd. especially that it's YELLOW and a FIREBIRD. That alone says look at me so it seems he would want to show off his new toy or show everyone what he snagged. Maybe he doesnt like to brag or he bought it to help someone out that needed cash?

Maybe he took it off the guy's hands so it can't be part of the divorce settlement and then is going to "sell" it back to the original owner.

Yup. People always have a reason, and if they're not up-front wth the reason, I find it's usually something either they don't want to talk about or you don't really want to know
I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

That's not it. He snagged it up front and the guy would only sell it to him even after others upped the price. He is just so anal about what he does.

Maybe he was afraid his natural father would give him hell about or or want to drive it?

I have a degree in Sociology and not that personal one.:ROTF: It just has me stumpted. Remember, I said I didn't mention the car at the dinner. He would have got mad. That boy just ain't right and he's 35.

maybe he doesn't like people making a fuss over him, and if he'd mentioned the car, everyone would have wanted to move the party outside for a look, and folks would've wanted a ride in it, etc

he might just want to start driving the thing around and have people see him in it, rather than making a big announcement about his new car.

or maybe he has plans for it, and wants to wait until he's ready to unveil them before he shows it off.
