back to the topic. who here plays tennis, how long, what kind of racket and what type of string. i know our very own Ron plays. but who else?

i use a wilson Nblade 98, with yonex tournment 80 string. and i have half a year under my belt.

tommy used to play. don't get the point about the guitars............ i do "grunt" but only to make fun of people that actually do it.

I used to play too. I loved it. We used racquets (sp) that were Dinkys. I gave it up when a former semi-pro just kept returning the ball on top of my right foot regardless of where I was on the court. That was awhile back. I thought all the tennis courts turned into condos.

Semi-western forehand and two handed backhand. I hit the ball pretty flat but I've been trying to hit with a little bit more net clearance lately. BTW, any tennis players here in Houston that wants to hit?

Dunlop Tactical Control. Two-handed backhand, and I didn't even know there were different types of forehands.
Started with 6, stopped with 16, on sand mostly. Trying to get back into it, but my fucked up knee won't really let me.

Never cared for tennis. They made us play it in school for P.E. class (Physical Exertion )

I'm more of an indoor volleyball guy, especially with a high ceiling. You can lob it up to the rafters and let it fall in a nearly-straight line, then watch some shmuck get under it and practically break their arms.

That was the most fun I had in a sport - except for yelling "SLIDE!!" to the guy on the other team when we were playing softball....on asphalt.

He did. He slid about 3 inches, which was the same length as the missing patch of skin on his left knee.

I've been playing about eight years. Usng a Fischer and a Head Liquid Metal. I'm not obsessive enough to sweat about strings, though I'm pretty stuck on using Dunlop tennis balls. I usually play once a week.
