  • Gig pics with my Jackson Stealth project

On Saturday, Under Eden played a benefit for a local promoter who has terminal liver and kidney disease. This is a guy who basically put Minnesota on the map for touring extreme metal bands, bringing in lots of great shows and giving many local acts opening slots. He's also the frontman of the infamous "porn grind" band Anal Blast. Anyway, we were supposed to play fourth on the bill, but due to last weekend's blizzard, we ended up going on first. Not many people braved the wicked weather, but we played one of our tighter sets.

For me, it was also the first time that I got to play my modded Jackson Stealth TH-2 and Electro-Harmonix Tube EQ at a gig. Everything went off without a hitch, so I'm happy . . . although my homemade pedalboard is starting to disintegrate from the weight of all the stuff on it.

    Here are some pics:

Cool pics, Ryan! How's that Tube EQ, and are you using it in front of the amp or in the loop?

I run straight from my pedalboard to a Peavey Classic 50/50 power amp, a little something like this:

In > Peavey UHF wireless > tuner > ART Xtreme > EHX Tube EQ > Rocktron HUSH > Boss DD-3 > Out

I'm really happy with the Tube EQ. It replaces an ART Tube EQ, which was a half-rack unit. The EHX has a very vocal quality to it, which I really like. Since we usually have two very different guitar parts going on, it helps me to cut through without being overpowering.

Neat. I was thinking of maybe picking one of those up eventually.

Great pics. Very sorry to hear about Don. I'm not much into grind, but Vaginal Vempire is a damn good album.

Cool pics. In the third one, you kinda look like Jerry Cantrell.
