Me personally, I could really care less what anyone on this forum says about me or my gear. I've been on here since previous boards, and there are and have been a LOT of really cool dudes on here I have had the pleasure of interacting with on both the board and in real life. Sure there are going to be douchebags, there are anywhere you go. The trick is not to let them get to you. I simply ignore the assholes, they are below my contempt anyways. Why get all excited about some asshole that you've never met that lives four states away in his mom's basement trying to make everyone as unhappy as he is? I have 100% confidence in my gear, playing abilities and standing in the music community. Anyone who tries to fling crap my way better have a really good crap flinger.

I noticed that the people have who have been here longer are very nice and knowledgeable, but there are still a lot of "newer" members that are knowledgeable and nice. Of course, there are a lot of new members with the lack of common courtesy, and there are also the veteran members that just think they're hot shit and don't care for new members. It goes both ways.
I personally prefer to read more than I write, because this forums standards are a lot different than what I'm use to posting at and I enjoy to read and absorb everyones opinions rather than runnin' my Italian mouth off.
My main point - everyone needs to start somewhere, and the members that are new to online communities will eventually pick up on the standards that are shown, however, if they are seeing other people be assholes to others, they'll pick up on that as well.

Isn't every forum the same? Established members think new members show a lack of respect and etiquette?
Take this example: I post something genuine in a thread here and someone makes a stupid sarcastic reply to it. So I reply in similar fashion.
I then get jumped on and called a cunt for ruining the thread? Sorry, maybe I'm a new member but I don't see the logic in that.
Just because people are new to this board doesn't mean they are new to the internet, new to guitars, new to electricity and the combustion engine or that they should be everyone's whipping boy for a few months until they "prove" themselves.
Sorry - if someone talks to me like I'm an idiot, I'll reply to them in the same stupid way. I don't see why I should ignore it, or kiss ass, just cos I'm not long registered.
That said, most people here, by far, are cool!Last edited by MartinBarre; 12-09-2007, 01:31 AM.

Like always there are lots of hey check out my new gear pics. It used to be that people were polite and always left, cool stuff/congrats(if you liked it or not). Now and it always seems to be from sub 100 posters. Damn that paint sucks/ugly/I don't like it.
It also seems like the new batch of members seem to take pride in being "aggressive" . When I 1st joined, I knew to be cool and try to get the vibe of posters and post. Now some of these guys come in and after a whopping 5 post are "I am King of all", and don't get me started on the always persistent. I got 1 for sale.

Before I was old enough to comprehend right, wrong and respect, I comprehended that the ass-whipping was coming if I got out of line. so by the time I did understand those concepts, I was already trained by the desire to NOT get an ass-whipping. And I had my dad wrapped around my finger, he very rarely hit me - but I got enough to learn to show respect to others, that was his big pet peeve: show respect to people.
Kids today really have no respect. In my parents' day the adults said that about us as kids, and we WERE rebellious. But compared to today's kids we were angels - because the ass-whipping was always in the cards.
Yes, I have become my parents! :ROTF:Ron is the MAN!!!!

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.
