  • Saw a Dime tribute show last night.

8 bands played various Pantera songs, and other Dime related stuff. Most of the bands were shit, but there was one band that was very good, and played mostly well known Pantera stuff.

The guitar player was using a Dean Razorback with flame graphic and a Washburn X2 head.

I didn't check what pedals he was using, but he had Dime's sound to a tee. The X2 sounded phenomenal. I couldn't believe that the sound was from a solid state amp.

The guitar on the other hand looked really cheesy. I've never seen one close up, but it looks like its just a big photograph covered with clear plastic. It reminded me of the BC Rich body art series but worse because the graphic is all over.
    Sleep!!, That's where I'm a viking!!

Didn't Dime use SS amps? Of course an SS amp could nail his tone!

Yeah because all solid state amps sound the same right?

That's definitely in the running for one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.

Well people say there is an inherent tone to tube amps that SS cannot replicate. It could be turned the other way to say there is an inherent tone to SS amps that tubes cannot replicate.

I had an X2 and it got dime tone with just a few effects. It lacked mid though and didn't cut much when there was another guitarist

Up close enough to fire off a couple of shots?

From a camera. Calm down. What did you think I meant?

              I nearly broke her back

A trifle unnecessary don't you think?
I feel festive all year round. Deal with it.

That's going a little too far man, even for me.

This guy had plenty of mids. There's no telling how it would sound with another guitar though.
