  • Instrument Insurance

For those of you who play out in bars and the usual metal joints, do any of you have musical instrument insurance? If so, what are the details? My current musical instrument coverage does not cover these type of events because they are considered high risk. I know somebody has to be willing to offer this coverage for the right premium, but who? The few phone calls I've made so far indicates that this is considered too risky for most companies to write a policy for.

I think there is a thread on this somewhere.
    Just one more guitar!

I have renters ins. (State Farm) so my gear is covered under that when it's at the house or in the car in the driveway. I found out that I could get mobil ins. for the gear that covers it no matter where I am. I didn't go for it because I didn't end up jopining the band I had looked at.

I can't remember what the cost was going to be, however I do remember that it wasn't outrageous at all. I do have my car, renters ins. there so having multiple policys gives me a discount.

Mine is the same. Except I'm with Allstate.

          Thanks!!

Allstate and State Farm have told me they can't cover anything that happens at a bar or nightclub. I think I'm going to check out the companies mentioned in the thread Cygnus linked.

Insurance and maintenance are the main two reasons I'm downsizing my collection. I'd hate to think what some of these cats pay in premiums for their 50+ guitar collections.
