Not that the induction into the rock hall of fame actually means anything...

I predicted in 84-85 she would achieve the level of stardom
credited to Marylin Monroe. Her marketing style has spawned
a million copys.

Not really a fan, but I do give her credit for keeping things
interesting, not staying in one place, and being a leader instead
of a follower. I'm saying this on the assumption that she made her
own decisions on marketing and styling.

There should be a pop hall of fame. The Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame is already nasty full of notorious non-rockers. I don't make the rules, just making an observation.

Rush and Kiss will be watching from the sidelines when the White Stripes get in The Hall of Fame is a joke, just the idea of it, that the music is a competition is ridiculous. Though I thought it was funny as hell that the only VH guys who showed up were Sammy and Mike! LOL

Its more like a music museum featuring different kinds of styles of music, than just "Rock and Roll". They should change the name.

Speaking as predominantly a metal/death metal fan, I can see why they put Madonna in there. I think she deserves it.
In her early days she was as decadent as any rock n' roll band, she offended plenty Christians, made lots and lots of young men masturbate and actually had some great tunes.
I'm not a fan of pop, but I can appreciate the likes of "Holiday", "True Blue" or her tits, when I saw them out in some magazine as a teenager.
