  • My first album recording experience!

So one of my bud's have a brutal death/grind metal (not my style actually) band named Carnophage. They are recording their debut album and he asked me to play a solo on one of the songs, so today I went to the studio for recording the solo!

It was actually a 4 piece solo and I didn't have time to sit down and write so I mostly improvised over and over there. Took 2 hours to write and play/record. The result is 4 consequtive weakly phrased shred solos in D minor and A minor/harmonic minor I'm not completely happy with what I've done but it was a great experience to record in an album for the first time especially for a band that's not playing my style

Moreover the band members and the producer really liked my solo

Here's my bud's band. You can listen to their previous recordings

CARNOPHAGE's profile including the latest music, albums, songs, music videos and more updates.

The producer is the guitar player & vocalist for the band Suicide:

SUICIDE's profile including the latest music, albums, songs, music videos and more updates.

Maybe I'll be able to post a link for the song when the album is completely done thanks for reading..

Cool, yeah recording is a very different situation than practicing or rehearsal.

Personally i think your bud's band is very cool. Then again i really like this style and they execute it very well.

Recording is a blast! Totally different from playing live, but a real thrill in it's own way! Keep it up!

Recording is the most fun thing about playing music - there's something magical about what happens in a studio. Good for You

Thanks for the comments dudes, I had a lot of fun recording indeed! And I had the chance to hear a mixed version of the song, it needs to be mastered only.

I liked my solo although there were a couple of flaws here & there.. And I can't figure out what the heck I did on some improvised parts, that feels strange I'll be able to post a link or an mp3 when the album is released.

yeah i know what u mean u nopodle and then can't remeber exactly how u did it, but i like that - when guitarists play their solos different live its interesting to here the many different ways in which a guitarist might have approached the solo in the studio
