To give up your manliness just to score on chicks... Um. If you can't be yourself and get women and have to dress like a pretty girl, then that's gay. As gay as emo, IMO, and we can all pretty much agree that emo guys are homos even if they don't like guys.

You don't have to suck cock to be gay. Wearing tight spandex, makeup and making up your hair like a pop metal band is just as popular with the trannies in SF.

Any of you want to get made up like a girl and post your picture here?

Halloween is one day a year. Hair metal extended that for too many years.

So what really killed it? The image of guys dressing in the right neon paisley color combinations of spandex, belts and vests, and spending more time on their hair and makeup than their girlfriends.

      • MTV made and killed hair metal for the masses. The sheep will always follow what the shepherd puts out in front.

He held his band back so much it's fucking ridiculous. I thought they couldn't groove to save their lives but when Mick played on the first Lynch Mob album I was like... holy fuck Mick can really play... why the fuck he spent that much time with Don.

Some Dokken songs are pretty good... like Sleepless Nights... and some of their albums have some of the best guitar tones ever... that being said they were still pretty lame.
You Ho you ! :ROTF: Don belted out some awesome vocals. Listen to lightning strikes again, the maze, til the living end, and just about all the other heavy stuff they did . You are right about Mick, he is an underrated drummer and an exceptional one at that. BTW Don and Mick have known each other for many years before Dokken and played in a band called Airborne in the late to mid 70s in L.A. til this day they are very close.

I'm guessing you have very narrow traditional views on gender roles and the like. The idea that guys all have to dress and act a certain way or else be labeled "gay" is ridiculous.

I still love these bands that came very late 80's such as Bullet Boys, Extreme, Mr.Big, XYZ , L.A. Guns and the list goes on.
They were all excellent live bands as well and saw em all at the Palace, Santa Monica Civic, Hollywood Palladium .. good old days...

I liked the way Don sounded on the live Beast from the East album best. I thought the studio stuff was too overproduced. He had a lot more attitude on Beast.

Yup, Gazzarri's and the Starwood too. Good times were had by most. The 80 were an ass factory.

                          • Don Dokken has one of the weakest voices in Hair Metal. Just put him against... Who?... Hum... Say Sabastian Bach. That guy had balls. That guy could belt it out with serious attitude. That guy had pipes...

Don Dokken could be drowned out by my electric toothbrush his voice is so weak....

Don't get me wrong, I like the sound of his voice and I dig Dokken. But strength is not one of his strong suits...

Did I really read that Tooth and Nail was as heavy a song as anything on Reign In Blood? Tell me I didn't read that. I'm gonna ignore that one...

Hey, I dig Dokken. But I wouldn't as much if Lynch wasn't in the band. I saw "Dokken" this past summer and they blew. Dons voice sounded like a 3 day old Lamb. Very weak and unsteady. And he had 3 hired guns with him. Yawn...

What killed Hair Metal? Your mom...

Kidding, it killed itself. It had become a joke of what it was. It became a lame parody of itself. Pretty Boy Floyd anyone?
                            I'm angry because you're stupid
