The solo is cool. I'm working on it - Boy, that John Norum is good!

Try to play the intro on a guitar, cum testes and with smoth distortion dialed in and the cheese goes away. Of course it comes back when the dude starts to sing.

He held his band back so much it's fucking ridiculous. I thought they couldn't groove to save their lives but when Mick played on the first Lynch Mob album I was like... holy fuck Mick can really play... why the fuck he spent that much time with Don.

Some Dokken songs are pretty good... like Sleepless Nights... and some of their albums have some of the best guitar tones ever... that being said they were still pretty lame.
we have a lot of different opinions, but I enjoy your honesty, not too many people are honest these days

Lynch Mob was fantastic, Heaven If Waiting has the coolest sound too it!

one awesome band that got fucked?

If you want to put on your foundation and mascara, wear pink leggings and spike and feather your hair go for it. However, I will point and laugh at you and call you a homo.

I dare you... buy that and wear it on stage.

Oh, and just because you think it's cute that your girlfriend loves Pukka or Hello Kitty doesn't mean you should wear a pukka shirt.

So, let's see here, you live in the bay area, post pictures of men in makeup, encourage other men to dress in women's clothing...

...but you're not the gay one.

Mmmm...sure...right...the mock homophobia cover isn't working...just come out of the closet...

                Fuck you.

I'm not encouraging shit. He's the one who said pink bikini's were cool and he said since dressing up like a girl is fine that he should prove that he talks the talk and can walk the walk.

                  • You dare me, eh?

I bet a lot of people on this board did that back in the day - I'm not into it to the same extremes as some of the guys in the 80's were but it IS fun to get dressed up for a show. I'm way too lazy to wear makeup every day, but I've certainly done eyeliner, nail polish, snakeskin pants, huge boots, brigh pink/orange shirts, etc. either on stage or going out to certain events. It's only the insecure males who ever have a problem with it (and maybe ultra-conservative women but they won't be at those shows/clubs/parties to begin with).

Hell I walk around almost every day wearing women's jeans.

Calling other dudes "homos" definitely won't score you any points with women either so what's the point? Tim has already shown how it makes ya look.

I liked that little riff better when Skynyrd called it "I Know a Little". Then again I liked "Talk Dirty To Me" better when Cheap Trick called it "She's Tight" too!

Hair metal died of complications of diabetes when it got too corny and sappy to live! Bands like Britny Fox - a shitty copy of Cinderella who were a shiity copy of Aerosmith - just bled it out to the point that it was bled dry of talent and originality. Firehouse and Trixter fall into that category too, though Bill Leverty is a pretty good guitarist. But they got too sappy and it was all copies of copies of copies.

And not to contradict Sonicsamurai, but in the 80s there was already the split between glam and thrash. Thrash bands considered glam bands as talentless posers as far back as the early 80s, while the glam guys considered the thrashers as greasy thugs who couldn't write melodies or pull chicks to their shows. SOME people liked music across those lines, but to most you were either a poser or a hesher, not both.

Nirvana delivered the coup de grace to a genre that was already rotten from the inside. It was tired as a whole, though there were still a lot of good individual bands.

                            • lerxstcat brings up a good point. Back then, you didn't like Poison and Slayer. It was one or the other. God I hated Hair Metal back then. I was into Slayer and all those guys. We hated posers. Fuckin' hated them...

It wasn't until the mid to late 90's that I went back and checked out a lot of the music that I wouldn't be caught dead listening to back then. Some is good, some still sucks. But the same can be said for thrash...

But some bands kind of crossed those borders around here. Guns and Roses was one of them, even though I didn't like them. Strange enough the Bulletboys was another. I think it was because they were like old Van Halen and nobody talked shit about Van Halen back then. Well, the Roth era Van Halen. But get caught saying you liked Winger and it was over man...
                              I'm angry because you're stupid
