What kind of strings do you use???

Not really , but I like the feel of them I also use DR Black Beauties 9-42
I just like the feel of the 8's & since their kinda Tin sounding I can mess with my tone alot as far as how much bass I add & trebble without dropping the bottom out of my amp. & since all I play is Metal this works out for me, except when playing clean then I really gotta mess with my settings. I use the GNX4 so far it's all been good. Funny part is I'm a rhythm player no leads or sweeping wanking shredding stuff , Play Bass & Drums aswell, I use to use 12's for a deeper richer tone, but they tear up your fingers into Hamburger :ROTF:

Nice to see people still using 8-38s, I used to use these, and sold loads of them. Around about 1991-92ish, they started to go out of fashion. No-one I know now uses strings so light, and even I now use mostly 9-42s. Maybe something to do with down-tuning, using lighter strings they are just flapping in the breeze! These kiddiwinks just wanted heavier and heavier gauges.


For the record, I use:
D'addario EXLs 9-42 (used to use EB Super Stinkies, but could get the EXLs cheaper, and you can get stuff by returning the packets!)

I also play like Joey Deacon drowning.

I can't imagine using 8-38s. I tried using 9-42s on my Lado, and even they feel really weird.

i use ernie ball hybrid slinkys. 9s essentially, but with a thicker lower 3 strings for chuggier riffs
