The other day i went to the local store and his power was out, and i had $5 in my pockets... so i asked him what were the cheapest strings he got.
Don't ever use "MUSIC-8" strings, they are JUNK. Their tone sounds like junk, and they lose their tone after 3 or 4 days and then they sound even more like junk."It wasn't the world being round that agitated people, but that the world wasn't flat. [ ... ]
The truth will seem utterly preposterous, and its speaker, a raving lunatic."

Usually GHS Boomers 10-46... or Carvin strings (Boomers in Carvin packaging, just less expensive), for E or Eb tuning.
Some guitars get Ernie Ball Power Slinky 11-48 for Eb or D tuning.
Sometimes I use DR Hi-Beams 11-50 on my Dinky tuned to D.
And I play all sorts of metal and hard rock... at least I try to.I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

Ever since SIT Super Hooks got hard to find I've been using D'Adario XL 120's on my strat-types. Anything that doesn't have a Floyd gets D'Adario 10-56's both for hard bashing tone, dropped tunings and to condition my fingers so that I can play the Floyd ones with less effort. There is no "team" in "Fuck You!"

Dean Markley Signature Series 10-52 LTHB
I've used the same brand/gauge for 15 years.
