Ever try to catch a deer, and stab it? Or trap one?
Not too awful long ago, my parents grew up deep in northern
New Hampshire, and the main source of meat was what was hunted.

My Dad had a problem with "target practice" for a long time, he was brought up not to waste ammo. My brother and I would save up money, buy rounds,
and plink at targets for hours on end. Nobody got hurt, and it was fun.
Pops came by one day when we were shooting 22's at a 100 yard target.
He raised his 12 Gauge and blew the target right off the post. One round "wasted"...

I believe you mean drugs are bad forrr aberyone0

Actually if I understand the statement, you think guns are bad for everyone?
I would have to say "No-Way!".

If abused, they are bad, but so is anything - people do drugs which have no apparent use, demotivate, cause overdoses and tear families apart - and those are the illegal ones.

Then there are cars - more frequently abused than guns and highly lethal.

If you know american society from the stupid autopsy/crime shows, obscure crazy news stories, and hollywood, than I pity you. I have never heard a gunshot fired in anger anywhere near my home. People don't shoot everything that moves, I don't have to fear for my life downtown, or even in the "bad parts" of town.

You find what you look for, if you are packing guns and poking around areas known to have crime or drugs, aren't minding your ownn business, then you may discover a bad situation as seen on TV. That's no different than being in london and having a hooligan in a shell suit heckling your old lady and beating you with a lead pipe when you confront him. The good thing about America is that criminals typically have crappy potmetal .25Autos that can be deflected by a good jean jacket! A lead pipe to the noggin would probably kill you!

Ah well, Altruistic Euros make me laugh as much as stupid redneck yanks humor you, and for the same reasons

442, I'm not a "gun nut", but I certainly grew up around them, and had the
education to go along with it. A family friend gave me my .22 when I was 11, and I was shooting the 12 gauge at 13. I bagged my first deer at about 15, when we were out logging. I got one every year for the next four years.
I appreciate what my Dad taught, though, he was dead serious...never shoot anything you can't eat, if we were caught plinking songbirds, my brother and I would have lost our guns, and any right to shoot. But, he let the target practice go, as long as we weren't chewing up his ammo.

You all can argue this thread from one extreme to the other, but it comes down to the simple number of 2. The haves and the have nots. I have.
To the have nots, don't ever try to rob me or break into my house with your pointed sticks, I'll shoot you in the frikkin head.
To the haves...don't try either. I'm a pretty damn good shot.
And I don't migrate to CA for the hollidays, nor do a lot of Texans as was suggested earlier. We just move around the state a lot to keep people guessing.

Yeah, family all just doesn't go to Grandma's up the street do we? Everyone has to have a little XMas @ their own house - for every side of the family...

Yeah I did. I had an early CAR-15 A-1 and it was the best weapon in close quarters.I had a Swedish K 9mm sub gun and loved it too.
Love the one you have there.Great site on there too.

I was a SAW gunner when I was in the Army, loved it. I was a fan of the M240B but I didn't get to use it much I used the M249 the most. then on the rare occasion I got to use the M60 or the 50 cal.

I can say, the M16's did not have nearly the tight QC standards on them
as the 240's and the 249's, but everyone knows that. I thought I was going to either get a medal or get canned for putting a QC hold on nearly 4,000 M16 barrels. Turned out they got reworked for rifling problems, and I was moved aside to final assembly inspection. For a long time, just one guy was doing the M240's. He was damn picky, too. A good thing...

sure you do! Just like we all live in or around Sydney, kangaroos hop freely down the main streets of our towns, we all ride emus to work, have thick outback accents like Crocodile Dundee & Yahoo Serious, and we all say "Croikey!!" a LOT

Do you think owning a Marshall 1959 full stack in an apartment, driving an H2 Hummer 12 miles to work each way in the city, owning a 50" Plasma TV, and a pitbull is a sign of underdeveloped reproductive organs, or just a serious of ridiculous and tacky choices?
Same thing, but less dangerous, unless you get hit my the Hummer, or drop the the TV on your foot.
