In that situation, the full context of the sentence must be considered:
"I have considerable time in this field", etc.

At my job, having seniority is called having "time in". A certain element has been using the term "timez in". You guess who. :ROTF:

Timeouts.

It is one word, not a hyphenated compound, so to pluralize it, the -s goes on the end.

I wasn't giving it the respect of being an actual word. I thought it was 2 words joined in use, or with a hyphen. The rules listed there apply to non-hyphenated constructions as well.

If several million remedial english parents, elementary school teachers and Dr. Phil types want to further pollute the language, so be it.

When a Ref says, "Time Out" it sure sounds like two separate words to me. He is referring to the "Time". Ergo, therefore, it's one Time Out, 2 Times Out, and 3 Strikes, Yer Out!!!!.:ROTF: Sports talk, is that one fukking word or -, has butchered the language.
