As for games: Oblivion, Dead Rising, Overlord, Burnout Revenge, Hitman Blood Money, Splinter Cell Double Agent, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Conan, Guitar Hero II and III, and COD 2 and 3.

Also if you can find one, get a Pelican FanStand for it.

And a Play-N-Charge kit - those controllers eat batteries like

Or if you have rechargeable batteries, use those, as long as they have a high mAH rating (2300+) and they'll last for quite a while; Mine do.

Unfortunately, that ONLY covers the RRoD. The 3 360s I have simply won't read discs. The first one died after 4 months and wouldn't read 360 games. Halo and Halo2 as well as other backwards compatible titles worked great, but I did not pay $400 for an Original Xbox in a white case that said Xbox360 on the side.

My second one lasted over a year, and now will not read anything - CDs, games, DVDs, you name it - not even a cleaning disc.

My 3rd is only a few months old (October 07) and has stopped reading any disc I put in it.

Never a Red Ring of Death.

All 3 were bought brand new.

My first one did eventually resurrect itself, but is still crashing with "clean the disc" errors. It started doing that before it died.

I know I bought the extended warranty for the 2nd, but can't find the receipt.

The 3rd one also has the extended warranty, and it will be replaced once the after-Christmas stocks are replenished - there's no way I'm trading in a Premium for a Core.
I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

That sounds like a problem with the dvd drive. Is it possible to buy another drive and replace it yourself? Anybody know what connector is used? I'd probably guess SATA.

I thought they sold HD dvd drives for the 360's? Couldnt youn just replace the stock drive with that?

They do, but they're external drives just for movies.

Nothing they shouldn't be able to handle - MS doesn't recommend shutting your PC down unless it's necessary, and with a proper cooling unit, the 360 can (should be able to) handle staying on 24/7.

My first one died during Oblivion - "dirty disc" errors, then finally nothing. It still does that, but so far, only with Oblivion, and only after several (8-12) hours.

My second one, as I said, lasted over a year, and I got 3 Dead Rising Infinite Mode Survival Records with it. Since there's no Save in Infinite Mode, the machine has to stay on, and it stayed on for weeks at a time.

3rd one is only a few months old (one of the newer ones with the HDMI output) and was my Dead Rising machine: It stayed on constantly.

Unfortunately, you can't just swap out the drive because of some "national security" nonsense.
