I was sittin in my room earlier with my bottle of jager and sitting reading the "Dime guitar Legends" issue that came out after he passed, and was lookin at old pics of him and his bro, and just then "without wings" by corrosion of conformity came on, and I just lost it man, I think this song is playing in DimeVision when all the old pics float by on the screen and Godamnit, I know what you mean man,

I don't actually like Pantera's music all THAT much - Cowboys is their only real classic IMO, and even that has some mediocre songs on it. Saying that, I own every one of their albums, so I must be liking something there.

But, although I think their music isn't overall the best stuff ever, I think Dime was the best guitarist of his generation. His solos were far and away better than just about anything anyone else was doing then, or is even doing now. He was a fucking genius on the guitar.

I just downloaded the "Walk" Video last week on my LG...and play it everyday a work. Love that solo. I couldn't believe it when I heard someone shot him. I don't know what I liked better about Dime. Being a total original awesome Metal Guitar God or how he loved his fans so much. The stories being told about his love for his fans and people are unheard of, in rock. May he rest in peace, and his love ones be comforted in his loss.

I was just watching the VH1 Pantera documentary saturday night.
Still seems unreal.

That Phil dude still comes through as an asshole. I saw Super Joint Ritual once, boy did they sucked and he would get mad at the crowd for not going crazy over his act. After that it was nothing but profanity laden spew fest towards the "paying" crowd.
