The first album from this fantastic Canadian cult band.
The sound and the production is fantastic, it was produced by Mike Clink who did Guns'n'Roses - Appetite For Destruction and Megadeth - Rust In Peace among many other things. Eddie Van Halen loaned his guitars for this album's sessions.
It's hard to describe the style. It's hard rock with heavy funk, latin and psychedelic elements. It's very groove oriented, the rhythms are just amazing. There's a lot of latin percussion on the album. Off course there's a lot of hooks and great guitar riffs too. The guitar work is very interesting. The guitar player (Jagori Tanna) is one of the very few who is incredible on guitar and bass both. The bass lines are some of the best ever, a lot of slapping and other cool shit. They have a lot of jam moments. Overall the album sounds very powerfull yet very psychedelic and melodic.
I've never heard anything similar to this album.
I can say it influenced Tool a lot. The members of Rush became huge fans and appeared on the later IME albums.Last edited by Snoogans; 08-01-2008, 09:47 AM.

I know it is quite a famous band and usually it is not taken seriously. It is considered as a continuation of Creed but it is totally different and really great imho.

Jack Bruce and Robin Trower - Seven Moons
Ogre - Plague of the Planet
Toto - Falling in Between
All three albums are super strong all the way through and each has something special to offer."Those who know what's best for us, must rise and save us from ourselves!"

ICON - Self Titled 1984
Virtually Unknown, This album Rocked Hard. One of the best 80's style Melodic Heavy Metal/Hard Rock Albums, hard to describe, mid tempo, Not screaming or screaching vocals, Solid voice very thick and powerfull, twin guitars and very melodic, very "I'm gonna Rock You" type themes, lol, but ya know, when your really young it's so great, one of those that i still have, and will never lose.
A lot of good memories tied to this.
Tracks
1. (Rock On) Through The Night <-----Kick you in the face with ROCK
2. Killer Machine <-------Finger your girlfriend
3. On Your Feet <-------Rally the Troops to ROCK
4. World War <-------1994 was the end of the world
5. Hot Desert Night <-------Bang your girlfriend, ..hard
6. Under My Gun <-------Catch a bullet in the face with ROCK
7. Iconoclast <------Very Short Twin Guitar Instrumental, very melodic and long sustained notes, great tone, dug this

9. I'm Alive <-------- Dokken Riff attack, Cant Stop Me or the ROCK
10. It's Up To You <-------Obligatory, What's it gonna be Baby :ROTF:
ROCK
THICK drums, GREAT GUITAR Sounds on this album, a big percentage of the 80's guys here will love the guitar sounds on this.

Alright, I have 3 monster records for you guys...
1) Aftershok - Unfinished Business
Fellow JCF'er HiOctane on guitar and Vic Hix (from Shok Paris) on vocals, this is a classic metal record.
2) Rawhead Rexx - Self Titled
Just a kick ass metal record that went completely unappreciated.
3) K.O.D. (King Of Darkness)
If you can get past the poor english of the singer (the band is Japanese) this is a MONSTER record. Think EZO with Doug Aldrich on guitars. Yes, it's THAT good.

Stray Dog - While You're Down There;
Anyone heard of Snuffy Walden? If you're familiar with the guitar work on the TV series, Wonder Years and other TV and movie soundtracks, then you know him.
Stray dog was his band in the early 70's. Released only this and their first self titled LP. I got 'em both in LP and CD. Hard to acquire for sure. Nowadays, it's classed as "Psyche Rock." Great playing and songs.
If you get the chance, give it a listen.
