To know how guys like Tom can think that way, you have to have as much money as he does. See, money breeds a different kind. When you get that stupid rich, it effects everything you do. How you think, what you feel, what you believe in. Everything. I know a few people with money, none like what Cruise has, and I shake my head on a daily basis hearing the shit that comes out of their mouth. They are so far removed from "normal" people like us, we can't even fathom what their thought process is...

The difference is theres an actual reference as to where this cult started, theres irrefutable evidence to extinguish this cult, but people just ignore it as lame and let it continue to grow power. They aren't as big as christianity, but they certainly are in the government systems because they have money! They use lawyers and scare tactics (and even murder) to continue the secracy. Part of becoming a member is to reveal all your sins and wrongdoings (largely rumored to include tom and johns homosexual/experimenting pasts) so they can blackmail you from leaving. And it gets far far worse, and its all documented by hubbard. It's to crush the persons very will to bother going up against scientologies seemingly endless barrage of harrasment. Documented tactic.

Also documented in an 82' penthouse? or some mag article was an interview with hubbard jr. google it and read it and see just what kind of guy hubbard was.

Yeah they're all cults, yes the right wing christian idealism combined with general conservatism makes a fucking horrible government, but christianity can also be positive for society. Scientology definitely can NOT.

Another difference is that if someone actually follows teachings of the main character from Christianity, you CAN make a better world - peace, love thy neighbor, forgiveness, do not kill, etc.

Hubbard, not so sure....at least from what Cruise was saying. He says he can help people and it's hard not to, etc...but I can't for the life of me figured out how he or any of them help, except for liberating peoples greenbacks.

Ron was a Sci-fi writer. So He writes a story about about a dying planet whos peoples "souls" travel through space and just happen upon earth and inhabit human bodies. Now theyre just waiting for the big man to show up in a space ship to reclaim them and free them from their human host bodies. Thats the story folks. Thats what you get to read if reach the highest level and pay the mega bucks to read the sacred scrolls of scientology. Sounds like science fiction to me. But then so does most religion. Scientology is not the practice of dianetics like most people think, They use this to suck in the weak minded who then pay money to worship and before they realze it theyve been brainwashed into the religion and dont even know about the space man fairy story because 99% of them dont have the money to reach the level where you get to read that stuff. But in the mean time the cash keeps rolling in for Scientology. Yippee the U.S. govt. got fooled int giving tax free religeous status to scientology. Take that away and watch it crumble as all the mega buck, high profile people leave it.
