"Accidental overdose when mixing with alcohol"? Wow, some excuse, especially when for the last 20 years there have been ample warnings AGAINST mixing any sort of sleep aid or painkiller with ANY alcoholic beverage, including good old fashioned "good for your overall health" wine.

Ignoring warnings and not knowing about the warnings are two different things. If 2 Ambien only knocked him out for one hour, then obviously he should have stopped taking them and tried something else instead of mixing it with booze, which is often done presumably to "make it work better".

Hopefully his role as The Joker will not be cut out and redone with another actor - I'd really feel bad for the guy if his last released role was Brokeback Mountain, but then again, maybe not. He didn't HAVE to take that role.

I saw somewhere that they're already in post-production on the Batman Begins sequel, so I'm guessing all the footage is already intact. I youtubed the trailer this morning, it looks great, can't wait to see it.

Apparently more info has come to light that he had severe sleeping problems, and was quite stressed...

We don't know for sure if he used alchol as well as sleepy pills, we should wait for the toxological results before passing judgment on what he did what gives any of us the right to Judge anyway....

Yes in a lot of cases suicide is selfish, but the suicide argument is null, till we know what happened...

Whats the part in the bible about judging people judge them least ye be judged?...

Then you should consider all the variables in different cases Bullying can bea major cause of people being driven to that place where they would wan't to end thing's.
But whatever everyone's entitled to their opinions weather they are relevent to this perticular incident or not, it also doesent make them right either...


And theres the adage "Don't judge a man untill you've walked a mile in his shoes, then you'll be a mile away, and have his shoes!"

I think the Dark knight role for heath as the Joker will be a fitting testement to his talent...

why would you feel bad for him if brokeback mountain was his last released role? it's actually an incredible movie that is well-done all around, and he was well-deserving of the oscar nominations that came about because of that movie....homophobe much?

If it was on purpose, then he's just another messed up dude and I feel bad for his kid. If it was an accident, then he's stupid and I feel bad for his kid...

Either way is stupid cuz he was doing good it seems in his career and had a lot of oppportunity. He should have been more squared away.

We all get tired, we all get insomnia, we all suffer for our career or lifestyle. It's how you handle it. He obviously didn't handle it well. The only real thing to boohoo over is a poor kid who doesn't have a dad now.

I do think it's went places it probably shoulnd't have, but that's what people bring to the conversation. Different expierences bring different points of view. Makes for great discussion...

He's been in 3 released movies since Brokeback Mountain. Casanova in 2005. Candy in 2006. I'm Not There in 2007. Brokeback Mountian will be the role he's remembered for. And since he was nominated for an Academy Award, I don't think he has anything to be ashamed of in that role...

I had no idea who he was until they said he starred in "A Knights Tale". That's a cool movie and he did a great job. What a shame.

From what i've seen from the previews I think he'll blow everyone away as the joker.

I'm sad to hear of his death. What I also read was that he had pneumonia at the time of his death, and that the pills they found included Xanax, Valium, Ambien and an unnamed OTC sleeping pill. That could definitely be a deadly mix, on top of a possibly fatal respiratory illness in the first place. Now the autopsy was inconclusive, so we wait for the tox screen. I'd guess a combo of illness and drugs did him in.

Regardless, it's a sad situation and I feel for his family, friends and fans.

the doctor I saw on the tv last night said that Ambien by itself is very hard to overdose on. But by the nature of how it puts you to sleep, by slowing down brain & other automatic functions (like breathing), combined with the fact that Heath's lungs were seriously impaired by the pneumonia, could have been enough to do him in.

Now if he had had a couple of drinks before bed as well, that just ups the risk again.
