First: "Homo-" would indicate "Homo Sapiens", ergo, "Homophobia", literally translated, would be identical to "Agoraphobia" - the fear of other people, specifically that being around other people will result in some harm or other discomfort for the afflicted person.

If "homophobia" is going to be exclusively reserved for "fear of homosexuals", that means the "homo-" prefix refers to "homosexuals", and that's giving everyone the ok to call homosexuals "homos", which is a derogatory term that has always been identical to "fag".

Second: If you're implying that I have some sort of fear of homosexuals - which presumes that I am actually afraid to admit that I have homosexual leanings - you'd be incredibly and retardedly wrong on both counts. I have no homosexual leanings, and I have no fear of homosexuals.

I do, however, have a firm grasp on traditional morality. If you want to believe it's okeedokee for a man to poke another man up the pooper, you do that, sunshine. Meanwhile, I will maintain my belief that such activity is immoral and deserving of ridicule.

I maintain that people that go around talking about traditional morality deserve ridicule.

It's in the genes, you know? If you want these guys repressing themselves, you end up with what we have seen in the Catholic church. Live and let live, and find something interesting to think about other than pooper poking.

Shobet you said what i did but much more bluntley your the fourth welsh guy I know to do that, wonder what makes me different...

All the articles say that he had a lot of pills in the room, I think the phnumonia and insomnia probably fucked him up royally.

I have had occasioanlly nights were I cannot sleep my brain will not shut down, and my body is exhausted and that is really frustrating typically though I only get a night of this and then sleep fine, I could only imagine the horror of insomnia for week's......

Has anyone else heard that the WBC bastards are going to picket services in the US they said they arent going to go to aus, I would hope the aus government would boot them out if they tried.

People like that just spread hate and ignorance.....

They call it "acting" for a reason, and Brokeback really put Heath on the map. Obviously the guy dated some top-grade women so it didn't hurt his hetero appeal one bit. To ridicule the guy for taking an acting role that was guaranteed to put him on the A-list is ridiculous. It was the best career move he ever made until getting the Joker role.

Part of his stress that he may not even have realized was the growing unease caused by the pneumonia. You can have that stuff for awhile without realizing it, as your body's stress level rises and your energy level falls. I am sure the dark role of the Joker also was a strain but I think the combination probably took a lot out of him, And people who are usually healthy tend to not realize when illness has a grip on them, and push themselves to a collapse point because they mentally press on when they are physically depleted.

Oh I dunno, maybe because of the following statements?

Thanks. Now where's the proof that I'm wrong?

Ah, Rome, yes, that great pinnacle of education and culture. Oh wait, I'm sorry, the only culture indigenous to Rome was conquering other countries and clothing themselves in the cultures of those conquered peoples.
Their alphabetical, numerical, mythological, and even societal structures were merely copies of the Greek, Phoenecian, and Arabian cultures.

Why do you think it's still called "Phonetic pronunciation", or "Hooked On Phonics"? The Phoenetians.

Consider the mythological gods of Rome, and how they mirror that of the Greeks, and even how Catholicism (which is a purely Roman initiative), is also structured identically to the mythological setup. Note also the inclusion of Egyptian religious mandates such as the Emperor classifying himself as a God. This carried over into Catholicism, whereby the Pope is referred to as "the Holy Father". Nevermind the fact that the very word of God they claim to represent specifically states "call no man Holy".

And yes, men anally probing each other is as old as the hills. Noah even plundered his own son's booty in Genesis.

However, in Deuteronomy, God laid out the specifics regarding moral behavior. Before that point (some hundreds of years after Noah), there was no written mandate about it.

Just because it was the first thing Man ever did doesn't mean it's ok.

No, it's not genetic, it's a choice. Just like whether you want to wear blue or black, play Gisbon or Jackson, or eat at Burger King or McDonald's.

Yes, I'm aware that it wasn't a gay porn, and that he was "acting".

However, consider Sean Young, who did not want her career stained by the seemingly obligatory nude/sex scenes and such that not only "made" many careers for other Hollywood Hotties, but also haunted them until after their death. She gets my respect for that, AND she's got a great career.

All right, but apart from the sanitation, medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh water system and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?

That has to be the biggest load of BS I've read so far in this thread.
                          It is genetic.
There are plenty of legitimate long term studies out there to prove it.
Since they haven't nailed the exact gene or where in the fetal development cycle that sexual orientation is determined, all they people like yourself call the studies BS.
                          Give me a break.

I happen to know many gay people and not a single one of them "chose" to be the way they are.
One of my wifes' aunts is gay and one of her uncles' is still in the closet about it, but we all know he is. "Coming out" for him would destroy his career. Trust me, he did not "chose" to be the way he is and neither did her aunt. Her aunt has accepted it, but does not go around flaunting it.

It's the religious nuts and right wingers that want you to believe it's a lifestyle choice.

                                Gun control is unconstitutional

Personally, I believe homosexuality is not genetic but rather based on the environment you grew up in. My cousin is a lesbian. I firmly believe she's a lesbian because her alcoholic dad beat up my aunt on a regular basis. Who can love a man when the one you're supposed to look up to is a monster?

Anyway, I am greatly looking forward to Heath's Joker role, since preparing for it really screwed up his head. May he rest in peace.
