Buying On Craig's List Long Distance

Has anyone done this? I'm wondering about getting a Fender guitar from Seattle and I'm in Houston. It seems there is really no protection like an on-line auction place like eBay affords.

Thanks Fett. I'm waiting for a reply on an email. I'm asking the seller some questions. As soon as the seller replies, I'll drop a line. The location for Seattle-Tacoma, say's "Eastside". So, I don't have anything specific.

I sent an email to the address listed in the ad this morning and haven't heard back yet. I'm going to see if the Seller will ship it and take PayPal. If not maybe one of you guy's could check it out and possibly get it for me if he won't ship. I've never purchased off of Craigs list before. There was another post awhile back where JCF members never got return emails from sellers on Craigs list. I wonder if this is the case here. Maybe this evening I'll hear something?

Good idea on checking out the headstock Fett! I had sellers on eBay that said no dings, scratches etc., only to receive the guitar with scratches and dings. Some of these guy's have different views as to what qualifies as a scratch, ding or chip. I get. "Yeah, but they are so small". Crazy.
