Bleah, same tired songs and the tone sucked balls.

And, what, you didn't have time to do the halftime show?
        So they didn't call you?

I guess second best Petty worked out ok, though.

I know most here probably don't like his type of music, but I do, its a nice change.
He had a concert special that aired on a local network awhile back.
He sounded good, good song selection and to top it off Stevie Nicks came out a sang 2 or 3 with the band.
              I enjoyed it.

I have yet to hear any artist sound decent performing half time for the superbowl.
The tweaking and mixing of the sound is bad at best and they nearly always pick songs that don't sound good under such circumstances.
Peace, Love and Happieness and all that stuff...

"Anyone who tries to fling crap my way better have a really good crap flinger."

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

Yes, there's a bee in the pudding.

                But I am right.

BTW, anybody know how much a band gets for doing the halftime thing? 500K?
                1 mil?

How much more does Petty get than those Heartbreakers?

And why do they need 3 guitarists?

I loved his raw sound on "Damn the Torpedoes", back in the day.
He, and George Thorogood, were some of what made me want to play guitar.

SW was speculating he would not do any "Solo" songs, thus no "Running", no
                      "Won't Back Down", etc.
                      Something about royalties.
Welp. She was wrong this time, thank goodness.

i seriously doubt the heartbreakers are hurting for cash and why do other performers need three singers? and yes your wrong about the tone... geesh!

If Tom was short of cash he isn't now. That is if he owns his songs. And I think he does.
