I don't think they choked. Nothing happens in a vacuum. The Giants played close to a perfect game on defense. They managed to use their superior speed & strength on the D-line for the whole game. They got consistent pressure on Brady & disrupted him without having to over-commit & get shredded with the short stuff, and still kept the running game in check. Talk about a tall order! No one else was able to do that for a whole game against them all season, and toward the end the Pats started to click as the Giants linemen were getting gassed & the pressure eased up. The Pats damn near pulled off another close win, but the Giants were able to put together that great drive at the end. Another thing no one else was able to do against them all season. I just think it was an awesome game that the Giants won, rather than the Pats choked.
I do also agree w/ CharvelRocker about them not going for that field goal. He made similar decisions all year, and I guess he figured it was time that momentum was going to start going their way, just like in about every game all year that wasn't a blowout from the start. Bad gamble in this case, but again they still almost won despite it. I still say the Giants deserve the credit for making more key plays & winning the game.
