...coz i ain't doin it no more. i don't wanna, i just wanna play guitar man. everytime i gig i feel so garbled trying to think of my lyrics and play complex chord changes and its leaving me in a rut where, live, i just can only play so well on guitar, but its still loose. we had a big gig last night with our battle of the bands. we had a big stage and it was so good being able to walk around and play guitar and solo an stick my foot on monitors and rock out when i wasn't singing. but as soon as i was doing my vocals i was fudging everything. i can't do it no more, and i don't think the bands gonna get any further unless i let someone else do the singing. if we can find someone. i just wanna concentrate on being good at one thing rather than looking average and loose on 2 things. *sigh*

There aren't too many guitarists who can play and sing well. The only ones that come to mind are John Sykes, the guy from Triumph, and the guy from Gamma Ray.

It's your call. I cannot do it at all, because frankly, I can't sing.
But aside that, there are very few that can. Watch closely, and even some of the "best" are fluffing while doing the singing parts.
Hendrix was one of the few that (it seems to me), just went on with whatever his hands were doing and sang independently of it. And he fluffed quite a bit, also during the vocals.
