This year's "brilliant" nominees for best rap record. Haha. Yeah.

Hiphop is about new sounds? I thought it was about sampling other peoples sounds.

Okay, I know Aretha Franklin is old, but come on. Put that lady on a diet or don't put her in front of a camera with her flab hanging out of her dress.

Best Rock Album. Heard of 3 out of 5. Foo Fighters. Okay. Better than Springsteen or John Fogerty.

Foo Fighters rocked. I'm really starting to dig them.

Slayer won best Metal for the bonus song Final Six on the Christ Illusion re-issue.

Oh, so I guess that category isn't even going to get mentioned on the show. That's one of the things I wanted to see. Damn.

John Mayer playing for Alicia Keys. Harkens back to Steve Vai with Nelly Furtado.

Ringo Starr and Dave Stewart. Two of the biggest dorks in pop music.

Vince Gill: "I just had an award handed to me by a Beatle. Had that happen to you yet, Kanye?" Haha!

Is Amy Winehouse drunk, or is she like that all the time? Damn, that's one nasty skank.

I wonder how the one-and-only "Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album" Grammy will be represented in the Grammy Museum, if the controversy of it will mentioned at all.

I didn't know Boots Randolph was still alive until last year. Wabash Cannonball was the first cassette tape I ever got.

Lee Hazlewood died? Does that mean Megadeth can take the stupid bleeps off their cover of These Boots?

Ugh. Over the three hour mark. Please wrap this thing up already.

John Fogerty playing a Petrucci model? Weird!

And Jerry Lee Lewis? Are you fucking kidding me?? He's old and his performance was affected that, no doubt (he didn't set his piano on fire). But it was great he was even there. Little Richard has obviously aged more gradefully, but he still appeared intimidated by JLL. I can't imagine they have much more left after that.

John loves modern guitars I think. My Guitar Player show shim with a PRS Single Cut, a Ernie Ball Music Man Axis Super Sport, and probably a few more I haven't looked at yet,

Herbie Hancock wins album of the year. Kinda bothers me it's apparently a bunch of Joni Mitchell covers (kinda like Scorscese getting the Oscar for a re-make of a Chinese movie), but at least it didn't go to Kanye West.
