Today I learned of the passing of a guy I got to learn to know very well because of our mutual love of Daria and Anime. Jeff Gregory or Ah!mygoddess from the paperpusher message board. He leaves behind a wife and two children. And I feel the need to express my grief over his death.
How can I put this.
To me Jeff was one of the guys on the PPMB that made it worthwhile for me to return after I distanced myself away from Daria fandom.
Jeff and I both shared a passion for anime and warplanes, in many thread about either we both piped in and were just dudes sharing opinions on what we liked and what we didn't like.
Jeff send me CD-roms with the Daria series complete, so I could catch up with the series and I in return introduced him to the new anime TV series of the manga he named himself after: Ah! My Goddess.
Jeff Gregory was the man who shared some intimate secrets with me and gave me some ideas on my Adult Daria stories as well as being one of my biggest fans of my adult Daria works.
Jeff Gregory was someone I never met in person but who nevertheless became a close friend.
Jennifer, if you're reading this, know that your father was always proud of his "Little girl" and that he respected your choices in life no matter how difficult it sometimes was for him to do so.
I have spoken.
Oh yeah, let me dedicate these songs to him.
Yngwie Malmsteen - Bach "Air on a G-string"
Sevendust - "Angel's son"
Beatles - "In my life"
and perhaps the most fitting.
The opening song to Ah! My goddess the TV series - "Open your mind"
