You'd think that the musicians would look at it as a business, the heck with their personal opinions, this may generate album sales which generates revenue. They certainly have the right to ask that their song not be used for political purposes, but when I hear one of those tunes like More than a feeling, i certainly don't think of party affiliation. I think of a great song with good vocals and a nice guitar tone.

the licensing is different for live and recorded music. I bet that these artists are not getting any money. They would get a % of ticketed sales. Even if it is a fundraiser the money is a donation and donations don't count. Especially since it's the venue that owes the money not the performer.Last edited by Rich#6; 02-18-2008, 06:54 AM.

Hey, that wasn't MY quote ...Don't worry - I'll smack her if it comes to that. You do not sell guitars to buy shoes. You skimp on food to buy shoes! ~Mrs Tekky 06-03-08~

You'd think the lord would provide him a better one considering Huckalbee's willingness to spew that religous nonsense all the time.
"fucking dipshit," "piece of crap," "the lord," "religious nonsense," all in the same post. Remind me not to stand next to you during a storm."POOP"

Politics and music just don't mix. Our country for the most part is divided right down the middle. If you are lucky enough to get a large fan base, to piss 1/2 of them off by standing far left or right is never a good move. Ask the Dixie Chicks. Stick to wine women and song and leave the politics up to the politicians. Most professional musicians don't have 1/2 the knowledge of what they are talking about or they are letting heroin do the talking for them. If you wanna listen to them, be my guest.

Das Rite Matt..!!!
That's what I think!"Bill, Smoke a Bowl and Crank Van Halen I, Life is better when I do that"
Donnie Swanstrom 01/25/06..miss ya!
"Well, your friend would have Bell's Palsy, which is a facial paralysis, not "Balls Pelsy" like we're joking about here." Toejam's attempt at sensitivity.

Everybody rags on Dixie Chicks for that stupid comment. I thought they sucked way before that. Plus, when I first heard of them I was working in a porn store, so I initially thought they were called "Chicks with Dicks." The association is hard to miss.
Friend of my dad's said he didn't like Clint Eastwood anymore because of some of his statements against the Iraq war. How the fuck does that change his movies? Especially the ones before anybody ever even heard of BushJr? A musician or an actor can't have an opinion on politics? I might even agree with Neil Young's POV, but that doesn't make his music NOT boring as shit.please don't put it into words, 'cause I fear what you're thinking
