  • Blu-Ray is the winner

Looks like HD-DVD is going the way of the Betamax. Rumor has it that it just a matter of days until they give up making HD-DVD players.

All this technology is Bullshit to me. But Toshiba is pulling the plug in a timely manner. And the stock goes up. It took Sony years and years before they finally figured out that the Beta format just didn't win over the consumer.

The cost of a blu-ray is still pretty crazy. I would rather have an up convert and keep on buying cheap DVD's.

it will be a good excuse to pick up a PS3 since i have a 360, PS2, Cube and a Wii already. Now, if they would only start coming out with good video games for the PS3....

That's where Sony played the game way smart. I guess they leaned their lesson.

Just because those formats failed doesn't make them bad. Beta kicked ass. Sony was just stupid about the technology...

This doesn't surprise me at all. I think I read about Toshiba giving this up over the weekend. Judging by the ammount of movies on Blu-Ray vs. Hi Def showed me more thought Blu-Ray was the way to go. They can hold like an insane amount of info on a disc...
                            I'm angry because you're stupid

I was there and Beta was regarded as the better format. What difference did that make? Sony's marketing plan is just perfect. This time.
