My trick has always been to use real butter, and whole milk.
Not a trick at all, but it works. And avoid mistake number 1: Don't overcook the noodles.
I thought of something else: SW could not make good boxed mac and cheese because she always rinsed the carbs out of the noodles. I don't rinse, I just drain, then add the ingredients and stir with a PLASTIC spoon. And, don't cook it over "warm" after that.
I ate a lot of those as a young bachelor.Last edited by Cygnus X1; 02-28-2008, 07:34 PM.

It does not even compare to real baked homemade mac & cheese!
This is a totally different experience, like a junk food. It's Twinkies and Yoo-Hoos compared to prime rib. There is an art to cheap mac and cheese.

An update. Like you care.:ROTF: So I go to WallyMart. The have a good price on flour tortillas. What do I see. Kraft Mac & Cheese for 50 cents. Then I went to my local supermarket and they have them on "Sale" 10 for 10. Their regular price is $1.15. I'm no cheesy math major but WTF?Last edited by fett; 03-13-2008, 12:50 PM.I am a true ass set to this board.
