I still visit regularly. I find this forum entertaining yet useful, unlike HC. I do miss the old classified section and believe the new one has probably led to the diminishing number of people visiting the site.

JCF=Ghost Town now?

I've noticed a slowing in the activity as well. In the past the JCF would really buzz before and well after winter NAMM. But between the price increases and the less than exciting offerings at the past 2 winter NAMM shows, I've noticed a big lull.
My interest in reading, talking and buying J/C has gone way down. I play a lot more for two different bands which is good. I still check in but there ain't much happenin."You have a pud..your wife has a face. Next time she bitches..I'd play cock bongos on her cheeks..all four of them!" - Bill Z.
I just just had a sudden urge to sugga dick..! If I wore that guitar and didn't suck male genitalia..somethin' is very wrong! - Bill Z.

I'm pretty much always lurking around here somewhere. It's definitely a lot quieter than it used to be, especially now that BillZ isn't posting as much as he used to. (Hope all's ok Bill!)
I am noticing a bit more of an antagonistic edge to some of the threads, which bothers me a little, and I'm not sure if the whole Platinum thing was a great idea. That being said, it's still by far the best guitar forum out there!

I've noticed it too. It's probably related to the fact that J/C really isn't doing anything new these days. It would be neat to see a new model or something. Anything is better than new colors (although I think we all agree that the Absinthe Frost is very nice). Also with the price increases, no one is buying Jackson, and very few new acts are endorsed by Jackson, leading to a reduction in the influx of new members here at the JCF. I don't think the Platinum member changes have had anything to do with it, unless all of the activity is taking place in the Platinum-only forum.Scott

Good remarks in many posts above. I don't reply a lot here but this forum has some very good visitors and the quality of the comments/replies you get from this message board is way above what you can get on many other guitar/gear/music related forum.
In the past year, I have cut a lot my internet usage but I still visit this place at least a few times a day.
Yeah, Jackson offering has been on the slow side in the past years but IMHO, they have a good line of instruments for all budgets, so why fix it if it ain't broke.
One bad thing recently is that I don't approve that VIP thingy that you have to pay for but I do understand that running such a place cost some $$$.

I never payed too much attention to the current activity but this is kind of strange. Someone mentioned Jem Site... as I'm writing this there are a lot more people looking but the number of actual members is not that much higher there. Just an interesting observation that I though I would share.
JemSite - Currently Active Users: 140 (43 members and 97 guests)
JCF - Currently Active Users: 41 (31 members and 10 guests)

I have observed that forums which have rankings (be it post counts, names or memberships) tend to scare away newcomers. I have the feeling that when you're new on those boards some people tend to get intimidated to post, fearing remarks as noob, rtfm, use the search button, etc..
Just my 2 cents...

Well, I did get a good deal on a very nice boneless leg Lamb roast. 6 pounds. It started at $46.50 with an Advnatage Price of $29.04. Then it was a Mamager's Special at $27.87. Then my pal marked it down to $9.27. One swipe of my Loyal Cuistomer card and the final prise was $5.42. Just thought I would help.Last edited by fett; 03-20-2008, 01:33 PM.I am a true ass set to this board.
