  • Any plumbers here? Or any person good with plumbing?

I'm doing a major kitchen remodeling at home right now and would need some help with the ABS drain piping for the kitchen sink/dishwasher.

Let me know if you could help and I will post more details from home tonite.

Just to add some details, I wonder what is the flow capacity of a 1 1/2 inches (38 mm) diameter ABS pipe?

Could it receive the drains from a clothes washing machine, kitchen sink and dishwasher? I bet not but I want to ask anyway?

    Thanks in advance.

Definitely need a 2" drain to take the output of a washing machine alone, let alone a dishwasher. You also need at least 1/4" of fall for every 10' of run on the drainline.

If you have an existing 1-1/2" drain and it's a real PITA to replace it, you might plumb in a deep tray utility sink or laundry sink. What happens then is that as the pump pushes out the water from the washing machine, it will temporarily back up into the laundry sink each time. Then after the pump is done the sink drains down gradually. It's not very elegant but if the existing drainline is in a hard to replace location, like in a concrete slab, then it can be a solution that gets you by.

I have been thare and had to dig 100 feet of trench at my former home to lay the drain pipe that did the kitchen sink and the utility sink on the otherside of the wall. The rest of the plunbing was OK. You would not believe the estimates I got. Thousands of bucks. It cost me less that $300 to do it myself. But I with never ever do that again.:ROTF:
