I am on edge a bit. Part of my high strung nature, I guess. I'm sure there is a stroke somewhere in my future.

He got ahold of me last night and promised he sent it. But he sent it at one of those places where Fed Ex stops by once a day to pick up packages. He thinks he might have missed the deadline for Monday. I never really thought of that. So if that's the case, it's here today.

Thanks for giving me the place and opportunity to vent. I appreciate the viewpoints from all of you that took the time to read my long winded post. It's been about a year and a half since I've traded guitars. I guess I forgot how it works.

Try using the tracking option on this page. http://www.upsstore.com/tracking/tra.html
I know it says UPS but you can generally track anything on it (fedex, USPS, dhl, etc.). I use this site when tracking packages and there are times it will show what is going on when the actual courier's site shows nothing.

I've had packages show "Data transmitted" for days and then I get the package and check later that day and all of the steps have been filled in. It all depends on when the shipping center uploads the position data.

Don't sweat it man! If he was trying to scam you he wouldn't have answered the phone

I just got off the phone with him. He called the place he shiped it. He missed the deadline for Monday so it didn't go out Monday. But the place says the Fed Ex guy hasn't been there for 2 days so it's still sitting there. I don't know what kind of place he shipped it at. So that's the deal. It hasn't tracked because it's been sitting in the place he shipped it for 2 days.

Now I guess I could read into this that he wanted to see my guitars first before he shipped. Whatever. I would have been cool with that if he would have said that. But I'll take him at his word. He is in a small town after all. So I might have it by Monday. He said it should start tracking this afternoon.

What am I waiting for, you ask? OK, you didn't ask but I'm going to show it anyway!

HA! Nah, I don't think any of your guitars are ugly. You have some fine, fine stuff.

I'll admit the pickguard is a bit strange. I do think the black on black with a maple board is about as cool as it gets. Even though I have enough black guitars to choke a horse!

I've always wanted an EB/MM. Never had one until now. Well, next week actually. Maybe. Hopefully.

EDIT: I just checked the tracking number and now it says "Picked Up" with todays date. So it's on it's way. That's good.

Makes me wonder if he was just holding it until mine showed up and he could check them out. I would have been cool with that if he would have been up front about it. That seems a little underhanded but whatever. I'm glad it's starting to move. Thanks for listening to me bitch.

Nope. This is a professional musician with multiple CDs on the market. Even his recording company can't get in touch with him. Very odd. So I hope he's ok on one hand on the other I'd like an e-mail stating his intentions at least.

You were buying a guitar from him, right? You sent the cash for it and he never sent the guitar is what I seem to remember.

I feel for you. Last night I had a sick feeling in my gut when I couldn't get ahold of him. But in my case, I had a legit phone number and address so I knew I could track him down if I needed to. But it still was a pain in my stomach. I can't imagine what that would feel like in your position.

I hope you get something letting you know what happened. That's has to be the hard part, no knowing.

I specifically tell people NOT to use Fedex Ground. Where I live (in the country) Ground packages aren't even delivered by Fedex. They have independent guys in their own cars who drop em off whenever they feel like it. And their tracking system will have packages 'listed as out for delivery' a few days before you ever get em. Then they say they can't find me, or ran out of time. Meanwhile if you've made arrangements to be there for delivery, you're screwed. Once I had a guitar delivered about 10 miles down the road to an address that couldn't possibly be confused for mine. The only way I got it was the people who recieved it made the effort to get ahold of me and let me know they had it. They could have kept it cause Fedex had no idea where it was.

Sorry I didn't update this. Yes, the guitar got here on Monday. Everyone should own an EBMM. Nice guitars.

That does suck but I have no one else to go with. I refuse to ship USPS since it took 6 1/2 weeks to ship an Ibanez PGM90HAM from Texas to Iowa. Yep, 6 1/2 weeks my guitar was in transit. Ad that with almost no tracking info avaliable (that's the way it was last time I used them) and I won't use them anymore.

I don't use UPS either. Not because they have done anything bad to me, I use to use them all the time. But as soon as they "upgraded" all their services about 2 years ago, they really jacked up their prices. Almost doubled around here. Went from like 16-18 bucks to ship a guitar to 30 and up. Their service isn't that great to warrrent that kind of price increase.

Don't know shit about DHL so I don't use them either.

But I live in a "big" city where Fed Ex delivers all their own packages so I don't have to worry about independent contractors. That would suck.
