new unified series starts Saturday night... expecting 26-28 cars on the track in Homestead. hopefully this is the start to get open wheel racing back to the heydays of the 90's. this season will be great.

Is this the re-unified IRL/CART thingamagig?

Are they going to have proper tracks or just roundy-rounds?

Last I heard it would be a mix of both, but probably more ovals than real tracks.

I think I'll stick to F1. It's looking like it's gonna be an interesting season.

probably more ovals THIS season... legal issues to sort out, they are trying for 20-22 races in 09 with mix of 50/50 tracks.

this season has 7 road course and 11 ovals.

Grandpa Mario was (and is) one of the greatest personalities in racing, though.

Yeah I love Mario, but after hanging out with and racing with Marco it's easy to see he's the typical 'spoiled rich kid' using his family name to get by.
