Current stuff that's been on high rotation lately has included the new Spiritual Beggars (currently on repeat in the car, lovin it) & the new Stephen Wilson album with Guthrie Govan on geetar (excellent prog rock album - still not sick of it)

Still need to see There Will Be Blood. Falling way behind on a bunch of new films that I wanted to see at the cinema. They're all on dvd now.

So I bought a whole bunch of amps. I learned to play guitar. Honestly, I haven't had this enthusiasm since a kid. As usual I'm in my own bubble..came up with some weird, odd playing styles I think I could call my own. Everything I used to do on bass..ala Stu Hamm-ish in the 80's/90's . I adapted to guitar. I never could do that before. I had to start with clean channel on any amp. Now it sounds cool in soloing. The fretboard suddenly made sense and I'm playing the craziest arppegios I've ever heard. No sweeping..I'm tapping, double tapping all this shit. Then always coming up with riffs based on this.

Losing Rich Lerxscat made me very sad. He always had my back no matter what from day one. No matter what..he was a true freind. We will jam behind the wall of sleep. I became the player and man I wanted to become. I'm always pushing to be better in every way. I missed you guys and always thought of this place. My ONLY online anything..besides an old stupid Myspace. I refused Facebook right from the start. I'm not a sucker. I have enough at home with family. I don't want or need to be social..I actually hate it. I hate TV..just constant wave of bullshit. Turn off TV and breathe. Critical thinking..free thinking is free. Metaphysics...holy shit! Metashredding, meta-awareness, meta self awareness. ..wow. People are too distracted to know and enjoy themselves. People love drama. Where you have people there will drama. My family believe in whatver TV says. Then you have people trying to prove it's a lie. Then If you do prove it's a lie, then nothing is nothing. WTF? Care about what directly affects you and blame nobody. Never put blame on something/someone that didn't go well for you. You control you, or others will..even TV.

I get mad at myself for not seeing/knowing the obvious. Things I wanted to see in people and not who they are. But wisdom is one good thing of getting old. I'm happy, I'm a fatalist. My docs confide in me..we help each other. Good guys. The best. I'm still very good freind with CPD, man I feel for these guys. I don't want my son in this shit. Maybe get in and work elsewhere. These guys are always telling stories about me..it's like I never left. I guess that's good..laughing. I make people do that. I don't know why?

My wife watches too much TV. Today she's watching Dancin' with the Stars while I'm outside looking at mine. I didn't see any stars on TV. Oh My doc's grandaughter was on Miss America..Miss Virginia. His entire family are good lookin'. I want my son to merge with his tree.

Jorn Viggo Lofstad from Jorn's band into Pagan's Mind, Beautiful Sin; Marco Hietala from Alexi's Sinergy, into Nightwish, Tarot, working with Ayreon; Jorn himself into Masterplan, Ark, Allen-Lande, Avantasia, etc etc etc; Tore Ostby from Ark into Conception. Recents buys are staple bands like new Helstar, Brainstorm, Evergrey, Scar Symmetry, Avatarium, The Faceless, my kid turned me onto, Moonspell, Vicious Rumors, Order of Ennead, ... Ashes to Ares is a bore. Why is Danko Jones on Marty Friedman's album? Fuck Dank Jones. The last Arch Enemy with Nick Cordle (arsis) is an abortion..ahhh the vocals suck and too fuggin' loud. It Makes Kaos Legion sound awesome. Hopefully Jeff Loomis will stay on board until Warrel get the Sanctuary nostagia out of the way. Do another Nevermore albulm with Loomis and or maybe with Broderick. They better not wait too long..nobody will give a shit.

Anyone see Chickenfoot's version of Highway Star. Best live version I ever saw. I thought that should have been a guitar solo since I was a kid...now it is. Joe uses a Boss Octave pedal it seems. Nobody sees THE obvious with Van Halen. Cream Made Eddie Play. Eddie was the original singer. His son is going to assume that role. A three piece VH ..keep it in the family. I can't stand the look or sound of David Lee Roth. With that stooopid smile of his face. It's not 1985 anymore. The band is awesome. But I can't look at DLR..whatta douche. seriously though, check out Ghost Ship Octavius. Fantastic album. I contributed to their crowdfunding for the album because Van & Wicklund were involved & was hopeful there'd be some cool shit on the album. But it was better than a few cool moments on a solid album - way better. It's fucking great.

Thought of another new band that I was turned on to recently. Caligula's Horse. Young guys, really good guitarist, opened for Opeth in Brisbane this year.

Gary, Caligula's horse seemed cool. I waked up my wife at 500AM type "Ghost Ship Octavia" . She took a benedryl. One stupid benedryl is like a roofie. She's lucky I'm not Bill Cosby. GSO.. Van Williams smokes of course. But that singer in a wash of reverb and that cop stache. I was waiting for the guitarist with his basball cap like he's in a 90's Nu Metal band to do something..he did. He annoyed me. But I've been annoyed by far worse and paid for it with money.

But all was redeemed when I listened to the last Helstar "This Wicked Nest" ..one song has Loomis on it. James Rivera fuggin' smokes! Maybe he smokes pole like Halford. Maybe Warrel should smoke pole if he wants to reboot Sanctary, and not enbrace his much better style and timber that aged well. Just do Nevermore with Shawn Drover , Broderick and Jeff, Jim and play. Jeff's is a never ending Riff Machine. Warrel and Jeff are perfect together.

I remember being on the tour bus with Nevermore, Arch Enemy in '98. That was classic. Look at these typos...better than ever. I don't give a shit. I like Typos was the greek god of mistakes..I think. I check into it on wikipedia. The origins of Typos..probably got people in chaos. The ancient books are all fucked up..loaded with typos to worship.
