      Bill,

My little Suzy had a tumor removed back in 2005. The vet had to amputate one of her front toes. The vet said that if the tumor came back, chances are that she'd only live 3-6 months because the cancer would have infected her major organs. Sure enough, the tumor came back and Suzy knawed that sucker off of her foot. That was 2 1/2 years ago and she's still kickin, full of piss and vineger just like her dad!

Sorry for the news, but keep your chin up and we'll have a good thought from this end!

      • That's shit Bill, my cat got run over a month or so ago, they're a part of the family in my view.

I'm sure you'll do your best for Pico.

        • Sorry to hear this news Bill. I'm pulling for Pico to beat it. Maybe if you pee on him again it will go away.
Don't forget the corn. It's nutritious, delicious, and ribbed for her pleasure.

          • Man, I'm so sorry to hear that. I remember you being extremely supportive about 3 years ago when my Boxer (Lambert) was going through this. Hang in there and celebrate his life the best you can. I spoiled the hell out of Lambert in his final days...ribeyes for dinner, a bed of pillows, etc. Take it to the limit to make his final days comfortable. You'll know what to do when the "sparkle" is gone from his eye.
I'm here anytime you want to talk...PM me.

            • Thanks Guys!! Well. Pico is doing good at the moment. He's was eating , barking and still humps my arm whenever I'm on the phone..so that's good. Thanks for the words of encouragement and comfort. My wife is so attached to him..its freakin' unbelievable. Pico could go on like this for..who knows. Yes, I know what it means when that "sparkle" is gone. No use worrying about while he's happy. I could kick the bucket tomorrow...shit Y'know?

BTW.. I hope AC got some sleep after watching that gay nightmare. This should help..maybe.

Aw, Bill, I'm sorry to hear this! I'm sending mojo to Pico and all of you, man. Like Mark said, the docs don't always know. Just spoil him and give him lots of love, he might surprise everybody.

Even though I'm in the medical field, I get really pissed at doctors/vets because many times, they may have a general understanding of the problem and then they deliver a "crap shoot" approach to the remedy. I guess that's why they call them practicing physicians.

That's exactly what happened with my Boxer. He started to develop a limp in his left hind leg that was gradually getting worse. The vet said that his hips were deteriorating which affected his psiatic (?) nerve. Long story short, after several months of meds and therapy, he continued to get worse at a rapid pace and was loosing function of his other hind leg and bowels/bladder as well. During this time, I moved from Pittsburgh to Denver so I took him to a new vet once we relocated. She instantly diagnosed a tumor in his spine that was pushing on his nerves as it grew. She said that she could have corrected the issue had she seem him a few months prior but at this point it was too late to save the functions of his hind quarters. A few months later, the cancer started to spread and he went quickly. It still pisses me off to think that a proper diagnosis could have saved him.

                      • Sorry to hear about your pet not doing well.

i have a friend that had to put down one of their Boxers 2 weeks ago. They spent over $5K to save that dog, but nothing worked. 3 transfusion, specialists, meds that were $400 a month. He had to take a week off from work because he was a train wreck. He swore to never get another dog again.

a couple days ago he showed up in the morning at work and showed me the pictures of the new dog he got! he was soooo excited.

i guess my point here is you may think about finding a new dog. for one, sometimes it will help with the pain of losing a pet. it kind of pre occupies the void that is felt, and will create new memories. just a thought ....

                        • Hey guys..

Rupe..that sucked. I didn't say anything, but my dad just put his boxer "Butch" down a couple weeks ago. His hips were shot..and he hit the wall with pain so bad he couldn't move anymore. The same vet that put him to sleep was the one that worked on Pico. She's seems like she cares, and doesn't charge what everyone else around here does.. She does works on all animals at the zoo. She told me radiation treatments could cost between 6-7 thousand dollars. Even tho money is tight at the moment..that shit will just make him sick anyway. Pico feels fine right now..so let him be. Vets must profit alot on sadness..people can be blind with emotion too make good judgement calls. Spending a fortune prolonging the agony a little time longer. That is something very personal..so I can't question that stuff. Personally, I love Pico as much as I could love a pet. He is LIKE a member of my family but he's not my wife, son, father, myself ect..when money is not an issue. I can barely pay for our healthcare. I'm surprised they don't have pet healthcare..that prolly does exists. It must be nice to have that kind of money to know that..who does?

BTW..Vinny wants to be a plastic surgeon and do breast implants. He always says that. I have a funny story about my kid..I'll save that one for next time.

Well, The only thing I want this weekend is the new Testament cd and Warrel Dane's solo..if that's out yet!!!

that sounds about as appealing as being a gynecologist. I've seen Dr 90210 - boob jobs are messing & gross. And the patients aren't all going to be aging porn stars & up-and-coming actresses

+1. If I was a plastic surgeon and had to cut a chick's nipple off and set it aside to be reattached after a breast reduction, I don't think I could ever look at a pair of boobs the same again. Same goes with the new "roast beef carving" surgery that seems to be gaining popularity.
