Hey Bill, gotz a question for ya.

I don't know the whole history of your little dogs problems, but I'm currently having some problems with my pooch and I'm hoping you or someone can shed some light. Suzy is having some neck problems (minor disc inflamation) and the doctor has prescribed anti-inflamatorys and pain pills. Basically, I have to poke the damn things down her throat because she detects the pills when I hide them in food or snacks. Little bitch!

Anyway, I'm wondering if I can reduce the pills to powder and then add water which would make them deliverable by syringe. I've squirted other liquid medication down her throat will little problem, but I'm curious if the water will affect the potency of the pain pills.

Hey SeeGerm - i know you're asking this of BillZ here, but, do you have a piller? Ask your vet about them if you don't know what that is. It's a contraption that shoots the pills down their throats. handy! it'll save your hands.
nah- the water won't affect the potency of the pills. i can say that too, i went to vet school.

It had to be done and he went very peaceful. I wished I could go like that..that would rule. Everyone should be able to go that peaceful, especially if they're suffering. I know that's a personal, moral issue..But having loved ones suffer and seeing that..what a difference.

My wife and son are already looking at puppies..Oh boy. Yes, Chihuahuas of course..but Vinny wants a Weener dog. They actually went to the pet store and they saw a Chiweenie. Yep, half Chihuahua/Dachhund mix. They wanted 800 bucks for it..WTF??!!..that's not even AKC..that's a mutt!!! I could go to the pound and adopt something instead of buying that. My sister adopted a Chug..a Chihuahua/Pug mix. I already told my wife she already has Chud that needs luvin'..you figure it out.

Well, I've been busy with this stuff. I came here and got involved in other threads.

It's always sad but it is for the best. I had to have my dog put down last year. They never x-rayed her until after she was dead. After about 1500-2000 dollars of treatment we gave up. We saw in the x-ray that she had about 30 miniature tumours in her lungs. I was devastated but I got better.

On the topic of getting a new dog I recommend you don't get a beagle unless you have a way to get rid of it's energy. I have one and he never tires...Ever.

I find today that after speaking with a couple of various members that the best medicine out there is friends who let you spill all over them and let you just blather until you are exhausted as they are as well. there are extroadinary people here and on other boards and I'm beaming from meeting all of them in some way or another.

I've been busy with our new baby. Yep, another chihuahua..7 weeks old, she's at the vet now gettin' a check up. She looks like a 2.5 lb Doberman..she really does..same exact markings/color. Her name is Bella Luna..

Well. anywoo at first my wife was excited but then she strated comparing it to Pico. That kinda got me pisse because she was there when we picked her and I dropped big coin on her. Yes, she wanted a new chihuahua..from scratch. Didn't wanted to wait of bother or take another chance adopting one. Especilly when we both saw the chihuahua puppy with no legs ..it was worse than Strongbad's "Lil' Brudder"..I wanted to cry. I said, Nope, fuck that..No lil' Brudder for me.

Val is cool now..she sleeps with her and everything just like she did with Pico. Som this lil shit is talking over my bed too..this is great..NOT!

Ehh..fuggit.

Oh SG..That pill thing. I crushed a xannax really fine and put it in a squiter/syringe thing with a little sugar and water. I gave it to him him on his last night here. He was really suffering the night before I put him down, and THAT worked like a charm. I would do it again in heartbeat! Hopefully I won't have to cross that bridge soon..but that killed all his pain and suffering..it put him in a silly mood and he was licking everyone before he went. It started to wear off just as we brought him to the vet because he yelped a couple time when we tried to pick him up..that sucked..but it really helped. I wanna go like that..it was really peaceful and quick.

So, I've been really busy with this dog/puppy buisness. I'm going to see the new Batman movie in a few hours. My lil' bro has free tix..just like "Journey to the center of the earth" last week..that was cool because it was in 3D...and I was high.

Congrats on the new pup! I still haven't been able to replace Lambert and it's going on three years now. Maybe I need another pooch.
