Bibz, Gary, Ben, Sis, guys..I've been kinda outta touch lately. Any GREAT new metal stuff I need to pick up? I heard the new Daath album is out..gotta get that. I look like I can belong in that band...it's a bald/beard band. But I'm MUCH prettier!!!! Especially for my age...huh?

I got nuthin' for ya, Bill. I haven't got the new Evergrey, the new Daath, Textures, Eyefear, Scar Symmetry, the new Jorn dvd - man, I could just go on with all the shit I haven't bought lately.

I did get Wrath when it came out. It's a good album. I liked Sacrament better, although a lot of folks didn't like that one.

oh, I picked up Amon Amarth's Twilight of the Thunder God last week. Came with a live dvd at Summerbreeze in '07. I know a few guys here have been into them for a while, like Ron. They are a fun band - I dig the whole viking metal thing. They even have a long boat on stage

Wow Gary..you're falling behind too. I did pick up the new Helstar "King of hell" sounds kinda like me with John's Judas Priet singer...it actually pissed me off. The riffs/grooves are so close it's ridiculous. Why Bother?

Yes., I got the new Amon Amarth..I also have their 3 dvd live set. They're cool. I love the new Evergrey "Torn"..it took a few listens but I'm hooked. Scar Symmetry is great..I'm going to put that on again. I did buy a pleasant surprise.. the new Lions Share..

I'm falling behind because I'm a tightass - if I can pick up albums on sale, I might take 2 or 3 home instead of one at full price. But lately, none of the shit I want has been on sale. The new Evergrey will cost me $33 - glad to hear it's good though. That might be enough to sway me since I've heard nothing about from anyone here. They're asking $45 for the Jorn dvd. It pained me to pay $66 for the Nevermore dvd on the day it came out, but sometimes and for some bands you've just got to suck it up, y'know?

I'll have to pay some ridiculous price for the new Living Colour cd when they release it, because like Nevermore and Opeth, they're just one of those bands that I have to suck it up for.

Wow..that's alot of $$ for this stuff out there. There's just too much all at once to keep up. This never happened to me since I been buying metal. These ain't new bands either..they're established. I have four Lions Share cds. I'm missing two..I think the singer is from Astral Doors, and known to be from the Dio school of vocals..even tho he does get a bit gruff at times. Alot of singers are adding that kind of aggression to their vocals withouth sounding like cookie monster...but your average listener wouldn't know the difference upon first listen. I think singers like this is a good bridge to more extreme styles of metal without going full tilt growl..good for people that are stuck in the 80's but would like to hear some real quality modern aggressive styles of metal. Bands like this would be a perfect introduction.
