    Nooo!!

To me, the only person who can do Warrel style vocals is, big surprise here, Warrel himself. All the copiers I've heard just don't sound right for some strange reason. There's something about how Warrel does vocals that is unique and the other guys just lack it. From day one of listening to Nevermore I've thought Warrel was just insanely good and different from everyone else around.

          • Guys, and gals..

I'll be promoting quality new metal on my thread. I'm determined to convert friends to having more faith in metal. First impressions mean everything, so much thought is required. Many of you will be pleasantly surprised and will have new favorite bands.

But I need references what you love most in metal. I can depend on a few to assist me with suggestions. I'm determined to make believers of you. The music will speak for itself. Its too good to deny no matter what your taste. This will opne doors and help your own creativity..I promise to make it worth while!!

Steve, Troy..guys, be patient..give me this chance. It takes time to find the exact stuff to impress. Keep a watch on my thread..they will be posted there. Sources as youtube, is a good start for exposure. So, Watch for that soon!

You will finally understand my perception and why I feel the way I do. I'm not just some dickhead that takes joy talking shit ..even tho it appears that way at times. There is reasons to my madness.

            Yours in Metal,

            Bill Z Bub

There are plenty of new-ish (meaning from the past 15 years) bands that I like Bill. I just don't like any of the "heavy" ones. That's not unique to new bands though, I don't like Slayer, Pantera, At The Gates, Testament, Sentenced, Death, etc. either. I do enjoy some melodic death bands if I tune out the vocals. Carcass - Heartwork and Swansong are both pretty good along with stuff like Dark Tranquility's newer keyboard-laden stuff and even Kalmah and Norther are fun to listen to once every few months. I just can't listen to that kind of shit every day, it starts sounding grating after 20-30 minutes.

The new bands I like are all the ones that have exclusively real singing and "old-school" rhythm playing. No breakdowns and blastbeats, just good old gallops, straight 16ths, etc.

Sonata Arctica - Ecliptica is in my top 10 albums ever. Totally kickass. I could listen to this one every day from start to finish. Same thing with the first DragonForce CD, HammerFall's Legacy of Kings, Nightwish's Oceanborn, Therion's recent work, on and on.

Nevermore simply isn't for everyone. Sure they're talented, but I just don't dig their music. I feel the same way about a lot of jazz and fusion artists. Allan Holdsworth is possibly the best technical guitar player of all time, but I can't stand his songs. Even the great Jeff Beck has me bored 2/3 of the time (though totally in awe the other 1/3).

Yeah I'm bored - should be studying or sleeping but don't feel like doing either so here I am.

                  • "In the mid 1980s, Smyth became friends with Valerie Bertinelli and her then husband, Eddie Van Halen. When David Lee Roth left the band Van Halen, Eddie Van Halen invited Smyth to replace Roth as the band's lead singer. Smyth declined the offer."

Now Bill, I know you've got to be wondering why in the fuck I'm bringing this to your attention. Hell, you may have already known this. But for the last week on AMC, they have been playing "The Warrior" to promote their "action packed" movies and it made me think of the video with Patty dancing around in that one piece leather jumpsuit. Damn she was hot! Kind of makes you wonder how she would have done with Eddie and The Boyz!

I could swear Van Halen looked at some chick before they recorded their own St. Anger (VHIII) as well, though I don't remember who she was. As for Arch Enemy, yes their current singer does pretty well, in fact Anthems of Rebellion has my favorite song by them, Instinct.

Hey everyone..My brother Endrik called me today. It was so fuggin' cool to talk to him..It was 9:30 AM Here and about 4:00 PM over there..that's crazy. I would love to visit and hang out with E..we were talking about that. Maybe it will happen if I get a break from the ensuing chaos that is home. If I could break away just for a weekend..man, I'm going to Estonia..then we will paint the town fucking BLACK!!!

                            E is a true bro..what a good man!!!

Hey CR!!!..Yeah..VHIII was like St Anger/Risk/Smoke this/Disfunctional/Risk/Q2k/Demolition/..what a bad time for those bands. That's why I like bands like Motorhead, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, even Pantera, Slayer, Morbid Angel and Deicide..because they have no shame with their identity..the hold their ground and say fuggit to what is popular..that's giving the middle finger to the mainstream, they don't need radio!!!.. Giving the middle finger is fun..I do it constantly..that's fuggin' metal!

I am thinking of metal bands to show this forum..some already in-the-know- will be aware of them. But more JCF memebers seems to be misguided and think new metal are those grunting assfucks that sound the same on MTV..no..no..no..I will show them metal..I will show them skill in all levels of the highest caliber, especially vocals..and it will be 100% Metal..that will last a lifetime. NO TRENDS!!!

I know fguys like Gary wants to contribute..he sure can..but lets do this right and cross this bridge together! Troy can join in too..he seems to have done some homework. Lets show this forum..what REAL metal is once and for all!

                            This will start TONIGHT!

Metal warriors unite..this feels like 300, but with bigger puds.

                            TRUE METAL VS TRENDS!!!
