Warrel's solo effort is amazing. It hasn't left my car since it came out. Most of my other cds get rotated through the ol' cd wallet, but that one, I haven't been able to take it out because I might just need to listen to it at a moment's notice

The thing with Warrel's singing these days (This Godless Endevour and newer mainly.) is that he has a very "Theatrical" voice. He tends to perform is if he were doing a stage show like Phantom of the Opera or something. I'm not a musical lover, in fact I hate musical plays and movies. I think for me the reason he can pull it off is because of his range and power. Since the lyrics tell interesting stories in most cases in Nevermore songs and his solo material, he sings as if he is a character in the story. (See : Sentient #6, This Old Man, Brother.)
IMO the only thing that has probably stopped Nevermore from becoming a massive musical juggernaut is the Spinal Tap like 2nd guitar spot. (Poof! He exploded!)GTWGITS! - RacerX

The Learning, too, mate! Pn par if not better with some that you mentioned. But the mechanical instrumentation helps that song as well.
Been looking for the live clip of nevermore playing the Charlies Angels theme before some song I can't remember. Anyone can offer any help? Its all fun and games till you get yogurt in your eye.; -AK47

I was over on Rig Talk earlier and posted in a thread asking for "groupie" stories from days gone by. After I made my post, I thought it was crucial information to share with my brothers at the Casa Here you go:
The time is the mid-90's and I'm the guitar player in a funk band in State College, PA (that's a whole different story ). At a particularly hoppin' gig, this super hot chick starts dancing right in front of the stage. As a few songs go by, she's getting more and more animated...to the point where an area has cleared out around her to let her do her thing (although there was no pole, I'm guessing that she was a stripper by the way she moved...and by what followed ). We then launch in to "Brick House" and the chick goes wild. She's dancing like she's possessed...both standing and crawling all over the floor. Then it happens...she lays on her back, lifts her legs in the air, and then spreads them. Yes, there was nothing on underneath the mini-skirt...it was a classic "Beaver Hunt" moment. It wasn't just a brief shot either, she actually layed there essentially dry humping the "air" in front of us and touching herself provocatively At that point, I was nearly stampeded by the horn section who were trying to get a better view Unfortunately, some of the others in the crowd didn't appreciate this show as much as the band did, and she was booted by the bouncers...bummer! I was hoping to see her at a future gig but she never showed up again
I have a few more cool stories but that one is my favorite

Aghh, I hope I can survive a summer job long enough to get the funds for one of them fancy Loomis Signature model guitars. I really want a seven and I refuse to buy Ibanez. Opinions on the Loomis guitar anyone?"Dear Dr. Bill,

the Loomis guitar is very, very nice. It's no Arash Signature Jackson, but still very good.
I'd love a seven string, and that would be The One but can't justify the expense. Particularly when I'm jonesin' so hard for a DominionHail yesterday

Ben..I want one too!! I played one VERY Nice IMO!! I love that finish!!
OK, I'm a proud Papa!! Vinny is graduating from 8th grade tonight. Followed by his 8th grade dance. He's in the yearbook as "best muscian", and has been practicing "Eruption" for a couple weeks. He will be performing that tonight at the dance. He did it already this afternoon at school after their graduation luncheon, but the GIRLS..not the boys want him to play it again at the dance. So I gotta haul his Jackson and Line 6 back to school in a bit. All in hopes to dance with his favorite girl and maybe a smootchums. I had my first smootchums in 8th grade..and it was right when I heard "Eruption" for the first time at MY 8th grade graduation party ..1978!!
How fuggin' weird is that??!!! If you told me 30 years ago that my kid will be playing "Eruption" at his 8th grade dance..well, I'd never believe it. Well..fuck yeah!!!
Oh yeah..he's also on the Honor roll!!!"Bill, Smoke a Bowl and Crank Van Halen I, Life is better when I do that"

I wish I would win best musician. The guy who always wins at my school plays guitar in the jazz band and all his solos consist of is pentatonic scales. There's many better musicians he's just the showiest of everyone.
I did a research project for my Psychology class and it showed that people who played instruments like guitar or piano do much better than those that do not. Also, those who listen to music like extreme metal and classical do better than those who listen to rap.Last edited by Ben...; 06-07-2009, 07:55 PM."Dear Dr. Bill,
