I saw her segment in a television show about morbidly obese people losing weight.
She managed to lose 300+ pounds and weighed about 80 pounds the following year, at 8 years old.
Her legs were still bent though, having been deformed under all that weight.
In the show, they said that her dad was killed in a robbery when she was younger than two years old or so. So it's the mom (who is rather wide herself) who fed her constantly.
In addition to the bad parenting skills that the results of her mom's massive feeding exhibits, the other fact about her family that got me thinking was that they were on welfare after the dad (breadwinner) was killed.
If you get enough money on welfare to feed your kid until she/he becomes that obese, why would anyone make an effort to find a job?
