WOW! What a war. After watching the Caps, Flyers atomic pinball game, everything else looked so calm around the league. Well, except maybe the dude who lost his chicklettes on a high stick. That had to hurt!

I am definitely a bit biased. But not so much that I can't see. The Caps, Flyers game was old school playoff hockey. Hit anything in your zip code wearing an opposing jersey. Flyers pounded Mike Green so badly for a while I thought he was going to girl up in the corner. They got to him and it costs the Caps a goal on the power play. Thankfully he got over it and stepped up.

As far as not stopping the game for the injured player hit by a shot, the refs were clearly within the rules. Not hit in the face and no blood. Game On! Otherwise the game would be endless from everyone on D diving when hit by a shot. Man up bitch and crawl your gimp ass to the locker room. Seriously though. That had to hurt. He took it square on.

Caps were 2-2-0 versus Philly in the reg season. That's why I called it even money in an earlier post. But Huey owned Philly in the few reg season games they played. Had like a 1.68 GAA. Unfortunately, he looked extremely average tonight. Too many turnovers in the D zone caused by Philly's high pressure attack.

The game was a blast to watch. Caps up 1-0 and Ovechkin is God. Notice how he refuses to tell the media/announcers what they want to hear?

Great game and yes, philly just didn't "play" in the 3rd like always. They looked like they were chasing ghosts out there and couldn't keep up. I'm a philly fan and have to agree that the officials were well in their rights not to make the call but in "most" cases, they do blow the whistle for something that nasty. Sad to see marty let that soft one go.......uhhhh

I have nothing against Crosby, the dude is probably the best offensive player in the league, extremely gifted and talented player who just "sees" the game on a different level. You couple that with his competitive drive and you have superstar right there (well star until he brings the cup to pittsburgh, then superstar). I just find it funny that Ovechkin is the polar opposite in terms of the clean cut image that the League overmarkets with Crosby. I don't think he's a wuss either, he doesnt shy away from rough areas of the game or physical contact but he does embellish or dive to try to draw the call.

The Canadian thing was just a jab at Don Cherry, who I also like but he can go off the deep end with his thinking only Candian farm boys can play hockey in the NHL playoffs. While I certainly argree to some extent that some (not all) Euros don't have the same drive for the cup embedded in their brains like NA players who dreamed of the cup since being 4years old out on the pond, its not 1976 anymore and we've had European players in the NHL for a long time now. If Iginla didnt grab3-4 poitns in his last game you would of had 3 Russians leading the league with Ovechkin, Malkin and Datsyuk. I have a feeling if those same 3 players go deeper in the playoffs, you'll see them in the top 5 in playoff points as well.

I saw where Pat Threrston took that slap shot. Right in the crotch I don't think Bill Z's balls of steel could take a 100 mph slap shot in the pud. The nut still wants to play though. That is a hockey player. Hopefully it will be a good game, but I will likely be stuck mowing the yard during the first two thirds of it.

I watch nearly every game...the only thing that I'll trust is that you're clueless. You can dislike him for whatever reason, but calling him a wimp shows pure ignorance on your behalf.

MAybe it's just when he plays the Flyers then. I did a Youtube search for "Crosby is a wimp" and the first three results were all clips compiled from Pens-Flyers games.

Anyway, Malkin is a much better all-around player than Sid the Kid.
