The Jones hit was not dirty plus he apologized after the game and really felt terrible about hurting the guy if you read the press around that time.

I won't doubt what you say about him feeling bad, but that doesn't make it a clean hit...it wasn't.

I still think Hartnell is perhaps the dirtiest player on the team. I didn't watch too many Flyers games this season (4-5) aside from when they played the Pens, but it seemed like Upschall wasn't shy about cheap shots either.

Looking forward to the series...it will be a good one if the Flyers play hockey. If they show up trying to dish out punishment and continue to take penalties, they'll get get crushed.

to any shark fan out there... i know it sucks to lose a game like that believe me we've been through that (07 game 1 vs. the canucks), but they showed alot of guts and character... truly amazing performance

Amen! The sharks are my team. Tough to take the loss, but they played great. Last night wasn't their problem, it was the first three games of the series. Too bad they couldn't win one of them.

Upshall is like Sami Kapanen, but with attitude. His problem is he just bounces off of people I didn't watch the Sharks/Stars game. Kind of hard to, as I like the Stars but also like the Sharks, plus I would of liked to have seen Roenick get one more shot to get to a cup.

they looked tired with no intensity... they need to turn that around quickly. detroit doesn't need gimme games like that sat. should be a differant game completely.

Given that Dallas had 3 OT games against the Sharks, including that marathon game that lasted into Monday morning, it's no wonder they looked tired. As much as I'm a Stars fan, I've picked the Wings in the pool that I'm in.

But the Stars did best the Wings before the game: Swedish Elite League prospect Fabian Brunnstrom chose the Stars over the Wings.

I think Osgood is the hot goalie right now and the goalie for Dallas, good old "what's his name", has made a career of choking against Detroit. 0-7-2 last year against Detroit. In his defense, one goal was made when Holmstrom (?) was in the crease and the goalie couldn't see a thing. But that's hockey. I see another sweep.

storyline for game 1 was detroit skating hard enough to get the 5-3 power play to get them going... holstrom's goal was a tough one (definately in the crease, but it counted) dallas needs to win a higher pct of faceoffs, to control the game more. i still think this will be a long series... i don't think detroit can find a higher level than last night... dallas can play at much higher level than they showed last night. game 2 sat. @6:00

player blocking the goaltenders view must have his skates outside the crease, making contact or blocking his view while in the crease is goalie interference. it's still subjective though.

They have been calling interference pretty tight these series, that's why I was very surprised it wasn't called last night.

Detriot hits teams quick. Thats how they get them off their game, come out and get the advantage and score very quickly. They are a fast team that passes the puck very well.

I'm sure Dallas will bring a more intense game Saturday but I still say Detroit has the hot goalie now and sometimes that's all you need.
