Everyone should be able to do what they want with their life. If you want to attend the Church of your preference, that's great. Go for it. I'm glad so many get so much good out of it. I'm just not one of them, I guess.
Thanks for this post, I appreciate that you understand. And my own dad said the same thing, that you don't have to go to church to worship God. I believe that to be true. He was Episcopal and didn't go to church with us; my mom was Catholic.

But Dad also said, "Your mother wants you to go to Mass every Sunday, so don't even think about getting out of it. It's therapeutic for you."

So I continue to think it's therapeutic for me to go.

(I've crossed Texas off my list of places to go and start a cult. Any suggestions? Must be remote, nice weather, and the sort of ground it is easy to build an underground bunker and command centre, erm, I mean, a church. I'm also up for taking all your unwanted womenfolk and "saving" them. Must be aged 18+, that's the only criteria. Sign up to the Church of the Smacked Arse now!!!!)

It's all good friend. No worries.

Interesting enough, my family and "I" are Episcopal as well.

        "Catholic Lite" I call it!

Speaking of having a brain, every time you say "could of", you don't realize it doesn't make sense and should be "could have"?

Would have, could have, should have or would've, could've, should've.

Yeah, when you said "not Catholic, but close" I figured you were either Episcopal or maybe Methodist. I've heard both referred to as "Catholic Lite".

Hey, if the Pope had given Henry VIII a divorce, you WOULD be a Catholic! Now that IS close!

Yep, it was that close. Funny how history turns.

I believe both the Catholics and Episcopalians use the same Prayer Book. They are very similar.

And all those people who claim to not believe, I'd like to see who they pray to on their deathbed. Most of them will believe in an instant.

I believe, I just don't go to church often to do it. Different strokes, I guess. I have gone in the past and my wife and I take our kids on a semi-regular basis, both kids have been baptized. Just because it's not for me doesn't mean it's not for my children. So I want to give them the oportunity to get close to the church if they chose to.

So your issue with the Pope is that he isn't gay?

                          AMEN!!!!

I went to Catholic school my entire fuggin' life!!!

I bought my wife a Catholic school uniform. My pud is like one of those puffer fishes..just thinkin' about it.

I got stories about Catholic school girls..LOTS of stories..all bad..but true!!!!!!

Here's what I don't like lifestyles of the Amish, Mormons or whatever. It's not fair..it's wrong! Jewish and catholic boys get circumcised..I'm a ball point myself. The doctor did a great job on mine..my pud is all symetrical and everthing. Well anywhoo, Amish and Mormon chicks dress in Little house on the prarie clothes lookin' like The Waltons and shit. I know they have ginormous grassy knolls...you know the kind where it pokes from their gamdma panties and travel halfway down their groinal ..upper thigh regions. They don't douche or maintain the backdoor..it's wrong! It's an abomination in the eyes of my god (me)!! Could you imagine..I grew up during the 70's..I was neck deep in the brush..I know. It looks like a matted dog or roadkill down there. Decorated with dingleberries of all flavors and assortments. A pugnent musk emitting from down there..that smells like a mix of fish and taco seasoning...that taste like tart, lemon yogart. It's wrong!

I refuse to debate theology these days. I reserve those opinions, theories and beliefs to myself and like-minded people. My logic and fundamental knowledge on this subject is well rehearsed, fine tuned and completely unmatchable. This could anger and frustrate people that I consider friends. The key word here is "friend". I only value those who are accountable, responsible and display qualities I require in a worthy human. Therefore their faith or lack is no concern to me. If it is their faith that assit them to be such a person, then so be it. Human pollution comes in all shapes, sizes, colors and creeds..I detest only them. I treat others exactly how they treat me..

Brother would continue to kill brother if religion NEVER existed. It is man's nature. Our instincts are no different than any other beast. Except our intelligence fuels our bloodlust and need for power, war and chaos..man loves to eat, murder, rape, steal, shit, sleep and indulge..we wouldn't have it any other way.
